Was anyone else expecting Faraday to be a little bit more...how do you say...badass? I mean, from the previews we got leading up to the premiere, that "I
can't say it's our...primary objective." used to give me CHILLS because it was so creepy. But it turns out he's a pansy like me

Has anyone else read the article on the EW website by Jeff Jensen that lays out how each of the four new characters corresponds to one of the Fantastic Four.
Fascinating thoughts.

No, is it still up? Can you provide a link, thx!
I <3 Faraday, and I <3 that he is a pansy. The actor(i'm bloanking out on his name, Jeremy???) is doing a fantastic job. Brillant. good epi, Locke had some great moments and so did Sawyer. I wanted the red head to stay dead though |

About Miles' gizmo - I took it to just be something that he plugged up to make it look like he was doing something. It would also make his clients feel
like he was doing something if they heard that thing running. Just a thought.

have alot more in common than not. Mainly their love and belief in the island, and their insistance in keeping it safe and keeping people on it.

There was an astral projection one? I don't remember that. But I don't remember a lot of stuff.

important character, if he is able to explain half the stuff that goes on at the island that'll be good enough for me. All four of the new characters were
introduced really well. Man that was a great episode, can't wait for next week.

Penny seemed a bit surprised when Charlie told her about Desmond but if she knows he's on the island she might not expect him to be in the Looking Glass
hatch. Of course if she knows so much about the island, and is aware that Desmond was in the Swan hatch when the purple flash went off she might not even have
expected him to be alive.
It's possible that Miles' carpet scrubber was just a prop to fool his ghostbuster clients. Afterall he didn't need it to communicate with
Naomi. But I'd also expect this to be a gizmo that might have been developed by the Dharma Initiative or the DeGroots and would have been something they
might have scaled up to work on the island, or to affect the entire island. The little gizmo might only work over a radius of 20 feet or so but a giant one
built under the Swan hatch that produced large magnetic fields and what not might have been built. We still don't know what the Swan hatch really did, or
why the buttons had to be pushed, or what the purple flash was. My guess is that giant version of the gizmo might be what's responsible for cloaking the
island or shifting it in time or whatever. Maybe Miles can use it to enhance his powers, or to create a local time bubble or to shift into another dimension
where dead spirits exist. It could also be possible that all the whispers on the island are those of people who died on the island and that sometimes they
mesh with the island world.

I wasn't expecting that at all after those previews. |

Ditto on the Dan expectations. I figured he'd be a coolly evil dude, sort of like Ben. His meekness is really highlighted by Myles' explosive temper.

I was also pleasantly surprised by Dan's character. It's great because we don't really have anyone like him on the show.

I thought the woman that Miles went to visit in the flashback was Mr. Eko's grandmother. All of the pictures in the background looked like him when he was
a kid.

Doesn't it seem like Naomi and/or Charlotte would have recognized Ben? I guess there wasn't anything to say at that time. It makes it weird now to
think about what Naomi and Charlotte were thinking when they first saw Ben.
Because I would've thought Miles would've shown the picture to everyone on the freighter, and it seems like Naomi was the brains of the whole operation since Abbadon was talking to her in the flashback. |
