Posts: 3889 (02/05/08 10:15 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Ok- I finally got to watch the episode :) I've gotta admit that I'd probably have enjoyed it even much more had I not read all the comments/spoilers beforehand about the episode. For example- the opening scene- I already read the spoilers somewhere that it was going to be the car chase. And I knew long ago that it was going to be Hurley-centric. And certain scenes- like the Jack/Locke division, Jack and Charlie visiting Hurley in the institution, Kate stealing the phone and having the encounter with Naomi, Hurley stumbling across the freaky cabin- had I not read any comments about these from ppl who have already watched the show- I would've enjoyed these little scenes even more. BUT.....I'm not complaining at all....because I still thoroughly enjoyed the episode!! Great acting by Jorge Garcia! The rocking chair at the cabin and the eye peering back at Hurley- That has got to be the most freaky scene ever! And Claire.....first her dad abandoned her, then her mom went into a coma after car accident, then her boyfriend left her when she was pregnant, then now Charlie is dead. It's either the writers really don't care about this character, or she's really the most unlucky person ever.

At this point in the show's progress, I'm pretty much convinced that time in the Lost-verse operates in some sort of organized randomness. For example, Damon Lindelof at Comic Con '06: "It's interesting that you should ask about time because… you know… you're making a basic assumption that they've been there, y'know, as long as they think they've been there." So, is the past really as far into the past as we think it is? Or is it the present? How does time passage on the island relate to time passage off the island? Does the past intersect with the future? If so, how? From day one, when Charlie uttered the famous line, "Guys. where are we?" my first thought was maybe he should have asked, "Guys, when are we?"

I dont remeber exactly what was said but it was another reference to the time line being all messed.

In the "Past, Present, Future" recrap it was some other song.

I guess the whole thing for me just goes back to the coffin being empty (Christian's that is). I had let the whole thing go pretty much but then the whole thing with Charlie saying he was "dead, but here" and then that webisode just brought it all back up again.

It's as if they are Invasion of the Body Snatcherized by the smoke monster or other entity while retaining their personalities. I think it even extends to the dog who may have been just as dead, dead, dead, as Christian. If Naomi was really dead she came back also. But if you're buried you don't come back, and if you're an other you get burned on a funeral pyre (to keep you dead?), with the possible exception of Patchy. But he may never have been dead. Was Locke dead or was he healed before kicking the bucket? Aaargh.

I think what he meant was he regretted going with Locke because by doing that he separated the group. If Hugo doesn't go with Locke I bet no one else would have either. I think Locke will want his group to defend the island. Maybe in defending the island it creates a situation in which there are only six Losties who end up leaving the island. If that's the case maybe Hugo feels like it's his fault not everyone was saved. This is all speculation so it's probably wrong but it sounds possible for now.

I froze it, but I only see an island, palm tree, shark, possible radio tower? Has anyone got any ideas on this?

Well, I haven't done any sleuthing on this (and don't intend to), but it seems to me that it's some crazy drawings that are about The Island. Perhaps someone can post some screen caps?
