Hurley went on a balcony and it collapsed. I had thought maybe it was Libbys party or something but she said David "got sick". I've always
thought Dave being on the balcony could be a possibility.

I thought Dave was imaginary and not one of his friends that died in the accident. I thought the friends were the two in his flashback.
If Hurley does see dead people, does he know it? I mean, can he tell the difference between the dead and the living? he's never met Jacob or Christian and has never been told about either. I'm not sure why they would make themselves visible to Hurley. Ana, Libby, Shannon, Boone and Eko died on the island and Hurley hasn't seen any of them. Which is odd, as Libby would be the one Hurley would want to see most. And technically, Charlie didn't die on the island, he died off shore. I'm also wondering what Locke meant by "it's the only place with some sort of security system" when he was referring to Othersville. Why does he need a security system? From the ones on the boat or from smokey or from Jack? Lostpedia reported that Matthew Abbadon is an anagram from What Bad Boatmen. |

Thanks pussycow!
From the aforementioned article about Dave: "Dave appears to be able to physically interact with Hurley, by slapping him and hitting him with coconuts. This interaction occurs in the hospital and on the Island but since nobody else is present at the time this incident may just have happened in Hurley's head." Charlie smacked Hurley to prove his realness too. What's the story with the guy who pointed Charlie out to Hurley though? Is that the guy (who's now dead too, btw) that was repeating the numbers at the station with the guy that was repeating the numbers to Hurley in the mental hospital before he used them in the lottery? And what did Charlie mean when he said he was dead but also here?

hey i'm not really sure, but I think i remember not seeing that guy. After the guy pointed out Charlie and went behind Hurley, they showed the whole ground
kind of thing, and the guy was gone... maybe I'm wrong or maybe Hurley imagined both, can someone check this out, not entirely sure ...

Seriously - a lady that is helping you is struck in the back by a knife by crazy Locke.....and nobody checks her out to make sure she is dead? in fact, they just leave her lying there while everybody happily chats waiting to be rescued.... then she has the ability to get up, sneak off while your all there...with enough time to leave not 1 but 2 trails...WTF? Glad someone mentioned this. Our good doctor certainly fell a few notches this episode. Attempting to shoot Locke and failing to check to see if the
woman he had no suspicion about was still alive. Is this the same guy that wouldn't quit pounding on Charlie after the hanging incident?
I don't believe that whoever is in the coffin could possibly be part of the famed Oceanic Six. If the flashbacks are to be believed, they became celebrities. Even with a beard Jack was recognized as "a hero twice over" (which I now believe meant not just saving two people from a burning car, but also for doing something heroic involved with the crash). The funeral director said that no one showed up for the viewing. Surely some member of the press would have come by, or a curiosity seeker. Even if Jack was the only one with a degree of fame, I could see people coming in hopes of seeing him. I'm leaning toward Michael under an alias. |

i don't think this has been mentioned yet, but was anyone else struck with the focus on citrus fruits in the first minute or so of the episode? lost comes
back from a superlong hiatus and the first thing we see for what seemed like an eternity was a pile of citrus fruits before the car smashed into it. then,
mixed in with footage of the car chase, is a weird focus on jack's orange juice (and drinking problem). am i just grasping for straws at this point?
vitamin C? combined with H and O from the basketball game? were there any other letters in the episode that could be culled together and anagramed? maybe i should be in the nuthouse with hurley... |

(1) The 'gays' holding hands - to me, at least, it looked more like an upside down, 'hey guy, good luck.' sorta thing. And trust e, i think
EVERYONE is gay. This isn't the case. Just two guys saying 'take care' to one another.
(2) Anyone else find the 'With your permission, Jack, I'd like to go with Locke' comment from Ben absolutely hysterical? I mean, actual laugh out loud funny? |

The guys weren't holding hands. One of them was taking Vincent's leash away from the other.

I actually preferred his comment about calling the freighter and telling that Naomi was getting a really big load of wood. At that point all
Ben had was is smart-ass attitutde.

I don't see why the eye has to be someone else. Why can't it be Hurley looking out of the cabin? Maybe a Hurley from an alternate reality, or from
the future? (Although I must admit it looks more like Desmond's eye.) Anyway, we've seen the duplicate bunny in the Comicon experiment video. Perhaps
the Dharma people were trying to harness something that already ocurred naturally (or supernaturally) on the island. The shack may not be a real thing either
but instead is how people might visualize the porthole to an alternate reality or realities. Yeah, sort of like an imaginary hollodeck projection into the
mind. Maybe the shack is the magic box from whence things can come from when a person thinks about it or wishes it into being. But I really don't know
what's going on yet.
And something about the numbers... The watercolor set Hurley was using to paint the igloo drawing came in 16 colors. Also I can't remember the name of that game that Hurley was playing before visitor Mr. YabbaDabbaDo came in to talk to him. It's that game where you drop the disks into, with the holes in the game arranged in a 7x6 pattern, which of course is 42. Also behind Mr. YabbaDabbaDo's seated position at the chess game look at the stuff on the wall. There's a red sheet of paper with what looks more like a red blood smear and the word "Victory" drawn underneath it, although it could be the name Victor with a comma behind it. There are some daisy stickers on the wall with eight petals, sort of reminiscent of the dharma logo. There's also a drawing on brownish paper that has seven dharma-like logos although they could be daisies. Aren't there about 6 or 7 hatches? |

Actually Hurley is sitting to the side of the chessboard, with the black pieces on his left and the wihite pieces (and Mr. YabbaDabboDo) on his right. They
are not facing each other across the board.
Oh, and is the chess game set up the same way as the game that Locke played in the Arrow hatch? That would be nice to check. A black pawn and bishop are off the board. Is this a chess game from a famous match by any chance?
