Or , it could be the dog. It looked like an area of town where strays hang out. With Michael and Walt gone (assuming they are) the dog, like the cheese, dies alone. Sad.

I'm locking in my answer with 'Locke', for all the reasons given. My second choice would be Ben but I also think it's too obvious. Again, Locke
warned Jack (as did Ben) and Locke has no-one who would come to his funeral as he was an outsider with-in the group. Ben also fits the guilt theory, no loved
ones (I don't believe his adopted daughter would come) and because Jack feels he owes him that much.

I thought Locke, but after watching last night i am thinking Micheal again. Just because of the neighborhood, o and him being from NY.
But shit, as i sit here I start to think Locke again. |

I'm with ya fluffy. Micheal being dead isn't such a bad thing.

I'll say Locke. Final answer.

It'll be one of the 'Oceanic 6' who kill themselves because of all the "We have to go back!" imagery. Hurley, and then later Jack both
seem to be suffering from this affliction now that they're off the island. I think we can assume that this is going to become a running theme with the 6
who return.
It's someone with no friends or family who lives in that scuzzy neighbourhood and Jack doesn't consider a friend or family. It's gotta be Locke. -> With a very slight chance of Michael depending on what he does this season (if he ends up back on the island - like if he got as far as the freighter on his little boat, but no further...) |

So then Locke is paralyzed again and kills himself.?

I think it was Juliette.

Why would Locke leave the island though? He has no intention right now to ever leave.

I kind of like the Juliette idea, although my impression was the person was male. The reason this makes sense is how Kate responded when Jack asked if she had
gone to the funeral-- "Why would I go?" It makes it seem as if the person was someone she personally had
serious issues with-- like rival Juliette. Neither Locke or Ben have done anything especially awful to her (more so than to anyone else), so neither of them
make sense to me.

"Why would I go?" It makes it seem as if the person was someone she personally had serious issues with-- like rival Juliette. I think the "Why would I go?" could also be simply because Kate Austen, as far as the world is concerned, is dead. I'm sticking with her not being one of the Oceanic 6 because she is a fugitive and therefore she simply wouldn't go to the funeral because she needs to stay away from anything that has to do with their time on the island.....with the exception of meeting Jack from time to time, of course. I'm also sticking with Michael being in the coffin and him and Walt not returning to the island. We will see them in flash forwards only as a way to explain Walts growth. Michael dies, Jack finds Walt, Walt helps Jack find the island with his specialness. This has been my theory since we saw the coffin. No sense changing my mind now. |

I currently haven't a clue as to whom is in that coffin... but I think that it is someone currently considered a friend
by Jack, but by the time this flash forward occurs, things have changed. There will be many twists and turns before that flash forward takes place, I have a feeling. I love this show. I do NOT think it is Locke. |

I don't think it's Locke as that would make him one of the Oceanic Six, and in the very least I think there would be press coverage and enough of a
human interest story that there would have been others stopping by the funeral home. I think it's a non-plane crash lostie (i.e. an other or freighter),
or possibly Michael in that he might have got off the island, but wouldn't be celebrated because of his actions on the island. I don't think Ben gets
taken off that island alive, and if he was forcibly removed, he wouldn't be left slumming in some dilapidated hood.

It can't be Locke, the coffin wasn't long enough to accomodate his height.

Short coffin? It don't look short to me. I think that is just the angle.
One thing's for sure. Hurley ain't in it. Those pants don't make you look fat. - Jin |
