A couple notes about the scriptures you cited. That Corinthians passage illustrates exactly what I was talking about. It uses the word "homosexual," a word that didn't exist at the time when that passage was written. Now, I don't know what the original said, but I can assure you that it didn't use a word that referred exclusively to sex between same-sex individuals. No such word was created until the late 1800s. As for the Leviticus quote: I can't find it on that site, but that particular passage actually goes on to say that any man who does "lie with" another man must be put to death. Now, are you going to kill Todd, or will you have Amanda (aka Blurmanda) do the honors? :p

All jokes aside, I should point out that I'm not a Christian, so these Christian prescriptions don't apply to me anyhow. I apologize if my original post suggested otherwise. I'm merely trying to point out why it doesn't make much sense to apply Biblical standards of sexual morality to today's same-sex couples since their particular situations aren't discussed clearly (if at all) in the Bible. Indeed, same-sex couples today are just as monogamous, loving, faithful and committed as their mixed-sex counterparts. So to say their relationships impact either the real world or a divine world more negatively than does a heterosexual relationship in a parallel situation is completely illogical and mind boggling to me. (The best comparison I can think of would be a same-sex married couple and a mixed-sex married couple, the latter of which makes a decision to either forgo having children together naturally or cannot do so for biologically reasons. The point being, there is no legitimate difference here other than their genitalia--something they have no control over anyhow.) Hence why I could never have any "faith" in these religious ethics. But, I digress, as I can respect your right to have faith in it as much as you please.
