Of course you will if you're forcing her to take part in the dorkiest thing about yourself on your first date, that is if she's even real.
Do something else. Foseriously. |

Yeah loupert, you gotta do something more impressive. She can watch DVDs any time, give her louietime. Go ice skating or some bullshit like that. Women love
bullshit like that.

She actually suggested it since she knew I loved it so much. It was like dinner...a movie...and Survivor.
I wouldn't have ever considered it otherwise. We could just watch American Idol I suppose. |

Where did you meet her? Is her name Georgina Glass?

just remember the important thing isn't what you watch it's how you watch it
putting the moves on while watching survivor palau is better then avoiding her while watching survivor marquesas, even though marquesas is a much better season. |

I totally agree...wise words Maybe I should put a hold on the whole reality tv watching...though if she ends up not liking it we will never get along. |

Kit Pistol is the Liliana of Project Runway 4! Talk about low airtime...

Id say Borneo, then Outback, then EI.
I say EI because it explains the basis around the HII and what Exile Island is. |

My first season was Palau. Our family was bored so my dad, uncle and I started watching some TiVo'd episodes of Palau. My attention was immediately
captured; I loved it from the beginning.
Although China would definitely be good as well - I've gotten two of my friends to start watching the show when I told them to watch the first episode of China.

^ Brilliant. I'd still go with Amazon, though. Definitely the funniest season between Rob, Matthew, Heidi and Butch.Ewww, no, I disagree. The "gender twist" isn't as shocking (or polarizing) unless you've seen 5 seasons (or so) already done "normal". Ditto with the tribe swaps in 3, 4, and 6--they really need to see a season "plain" before you start with the twists, which pretty much means 1 or 2. It just so happens that those are on DVD, so if they really love them, they can watch again with commentary. I think i'm probably gonna end up going with Australia...cause if all else fails I can say wait look...a guy burning his hands off! Plus it's my favorite season. Also it's only the 2nd season, so if she does turn out to be a big fan, I can just do Borneo next and we are basically right on track.Heh, that's just the way I did with my friend, whom I caught up from 0 to Cook Islands in about 9 months :) She told me she got sucked into [Australia] right from the start--maybe she'll jump in this thread and describe the experience herself (*HINT, HINT*) I might be late but for a started season... I'd without a doubt go with Guatemala. As someone else said, the whole "we're bringing back Steph/BJ" thing not only wouldn't make any sense, it would spoil Palau. Guatemala is almost the only season you should NEVER show first (All-Stars being the primo example, of course). Where did you meet her? Is her name Georgina Glass? OMG, ROFL--I get that reference!!

The first one to watch is BORNEO....the beginning. From there you can skip around, but you have to see where it all started to understand some of the changes
over the years.

This will probably sound really strange, but I started watching Survivor two episodes into all-stars and was absolutely hooked all the way through. It was a
bit overwhelming at first, but it was a really fascinating season. The heroes and villains were clearly defined and the twists were really exciting. I had to
sort of rely on the CBS websites to work out who the players were, but it was a really exciting time to be following Survivor because it was clear that
Survivor was a long-running show that had made a lot of progress over the years.
Of course, this sort of ruined the first seven seasons for me, and I've never really gone back to watch any of them in full, mostly because I know most of the good bits and just don't have the time, but I would like to eventually.Lots of people will say that I don't really understand or appreciate Survivor because I haven't seen all of Borneo, but I think that if you're not going to start there, it's perhaps best to start with All-Stars, because that sort of sums up what Survivor had been through for the first seven seasons, and I've been able to follow the game's development from there. Also, Vanuatu was very gripping for me as my first full season because it was the first time I'd seen the battle of the sexes, and it was so easy to root for anyone after a few episodes. In terms of twists it was quite simple, but the best parts of the season were driven by the characters themselves, such as the power shift. I've seen every episode since, and even have to download too keep up with the US (TV networks in Australia are really stupid). For example, one of my friends who I had been bugging for a while to start watching Survivor sat down one day when it was on TV, and saw the Cook Islands mutiny episode. He loved it so much that he then went back and watched the beginning of that season, as well as all of Vanuatu and Amazon (for no reason other than that they were the easiest to download). He's now hooked and trying to get Exile Island before Micronesia starts. I think that if someone is really going to like the concept of Survivor, the season that they start on will make no difference whatsoever. Either you're a fan or you're not, and if you only like one particular season because it was 'the best', you're not necessarily going to like any others, or even the game itself in general. |
