Finally getting the attention it deserves.

Would have gotten even more attention if the awards were broadcast. It's a shame they had to strike this year, when there are actually some really good
movies and TV shows worthy of recognition.

Any word on a DVD release of the show?

I've heard rumors of a May release, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
The good news is that the Mad Men writers go back to work tomorrow, working on scripts for season 2. The WGA reached a side deal with Lionsgate that allows Mad Men and Weeds to resume production. Also, Mad Men won Best TV Show at yesterday's DGA Awards. |

Yay DGA! Have the SAG awards happened? (I can't and won't keep up with all the award shows, but so happy when M.M. gets any notice!)

They're happening right now.
But it looks like The Sopranos beat out Mad Men for Best Drama, and Gandolfini beat out Hamm for Best Actor. |

But it looks like The Sopranos beat out Mad Men for Best Drama, and Gandolfini beat out Hamm for Best Actor. Thanks for the update. An actress friend of mine voted, and she went with the Sopranos on those votes too, having never watched Mad Men (despite my unbridled praise and fanatical recommendations). So I had suspected she may have been an indication of the voting. Actors! |

Actors! heh... dude, its the same shit every year in baseball when they do "golden gloves" or "all star" votes. and james spader is the poster boy for undeserved wins in any category for any award, so... you know... |

This show received a waiver from the WGA.. Matthew Weiner is back writing and the show is scheduled to go back into production in April.. so good news for us
Mad Men fans this show will be back in the fall.
God Joan looked hot last night.. and I cannot wait to see John Flattery again.. he is another roundly ignored talent that really lends the asshole credo to anything the touches.. I just watched Sex and The City with him as the peeing politician.. love that guy. I may hate the character but I love the actor. |

it ain't no waver. its a full fledged, although interim/side deal, contract with the wga. whatever. put your pencils to the paper and write season two
now. quickly. before somebody changes their mind. and start filming. now.

Yay! Good news about the show coming back in the fall (though I wish it was sooner) and good news about the Golden Globe and SAG wins too (though I think
award shows are rubbish).

Thank TPTB ! At least one good show for the fall! I have some love for the reality shows--but all reality makes for Swiss cheese brain....ahhh maybe
that's it--this writer's strike is really a terrorist plot to turn us all into zombie droolers. Paging Homeland Security...
