All-Stars gave us the interesting three tribe dynamic, but I always felt like it was a failed opportunity to not play the concept out up until a merge. I think it would make for an interesting post-merge game. We could have a 5-3-2, 3-3-3, 4-4-1...so many interesting possibilities. The tribes could even be divided as a tribe of males, a tribe of females, and then a tribe of 3 males and 3 females. I just think it would make the merge a lot more interesting and give us a lot more strategizing and dissolving of tribal alliances.

It'll happen eventually, just like an early merge will, I'd imagine. I mean, if Burnett can think of all these crazy twists and use them in the game,
surely he could use something as simple as keeping 3 (or even 4 in the case of EI and CI) tribes together until the merge.

I hope they even USE three tribes again. I absolutely loved the 3 tribe format in All-Stars, and having four tribes creates really small tribes to begin with
and has obviously resulted in a mix/merge in eps 2 & 3. If they're worried about the audience getting confused with 3 tribes, they could easily split
them:
- Men - Women - Mixed - Men - Women - Mixed 20-somethings or something tacky in the vein of fans vs favorites such as: - All Stars - 2nd Chance - Newbies - Caucasian - African American - Asian/Hispanic/Indian etc. - Lawyers - Athletes - Accountants (yuk!) 
I agree though, I'd love to see 3 tribes, no switch, merge at 12 But more importantly is the three tribes!

Yep. 3 tribes, 1 all male, 1 all female and 1 mixed would be good. I've been wanting that. And they can call it a social experiment. Do teams with all the
same gender work better together or are men and women better mixed? I assume you're talking about 18 castaways here. If they don't want the double
tribal I think they can afford to do a combined Immunity - Reward Challenge for the first two episodes or so and just add in an extra episode to fill the gaps.

It'll be interesting if we see this in process. There will be three tribes, three groups, I hoe there'll be 3 or more alliance then the merge comes,
the 2 groups will join forces to oust the other alliance then there will be backstabbing and flipping. It's exciting.

I agree. I've thought a lot about this in the past and it's impossible to predict how this would play out, even if there was a very small tribe.
Everyone would fight to gather as many people from other tribes to knock out another tribe. And it would be so easy to flip alliances / tribal lines throughout
the game to make it to the end. Insanity would definitely ensue. I could see the merge ep. being as much of a headache to follow as the Edgardo idol boot ep.

they did have 3 tribes until the merge: in Pearl Island: Morgan, Drake and the Outcasts, though the outcasts are debatable and were never shown it is a
technicality that has to be taken into consideration.

I both count the Outcasts and don't count them as a tribe at the same time. Yes, they had like...kinda buffs and stuff and cast votes, but there was no
point during the game where the Outcasts voted someone out of their tribe.

I don't think we'll see 3 tribes into a merge. I mean this show was inspired by Lord of
the Flies and there were only 2 "tribes" in that book. But it
would be awsome to see it happen after all LOTF didn't have Exile Island lol
