I actually like the new version, even though at times it feels scripted it's still entertaining!

Did you ever watch American Gladiators last decade? If you did you completely forgot how radically the eliminator changed when the treadmill moved from the beginning of the course to the end of the course. That one change basically eliminated the power of having a lead on your competitor.I wasn't commenting about just about losing the lead - I just thought it was strange that the black woman, who was running strong & had a half-course lead, just stopped (gave up?) on the travelator. Then even though Venus could barely stand, she flew up the treadmill in a few seconds to win. Looked fishy to me. Regarding the paper vs. foam block wall at the end - they should have a wall like in MXC with doors where some are paper thin but some are solid? Would be hilarious to see them bouncing off the wall trying to get through!!

I TOTALLY have a crush on Gina! (Crush)
She has a kickass body, like most of them...but she also has a gorgeous face! Her haircut is hot, as well. Hellga is a tanker truck. She was built to be the anchor in the gauntlet! they were doing a camera sweep along the gauntlet route and they showed the back of Hellga's thighs... HAIL DAMAGE!! WTF? you would think the muscle bounds wouldn't have cellulite! |

Couldn't get into it. Loved the original and would love to compete in this but Hulk Hogan was just to much as was the guys entrance.

No one else commenting on Venom's stupid flip on her Gauntlet intro? She sucks at Gauntlet, too. And Hang Tough. Even though I love whichever girl does
that weird let go of the rings and hang off the chick. That was cool, even though she eventually fell.
Crush is smokin', but I fear she'll only be doing Joust because even though she is heavier than some of them, she is so tiny. Hellga's legs scared me. |

It definitely seems that the females are going to have "signature" events that they only participate in. Fury and Crush seem like the only well
rounded female gladiators that could do well in most events. It would be interesting to see Hellga on the Joust platform. I just can't see Stealth, Venom,
or Siren doing Earthquake or the Joust.

Fury is the one who does that reverse hang off the competitor in Hang Tough and tries to pull them down using her body weight while hanging.

that is kindof a rip. The gladiators should lose points if THEY go in the water. (Or the contestant should get extras) It doesn't take strength, skill, or
talent to just hang your huge frame on someone hanging from rings to knock them off.

She's not as cut as the other women gladiators, but Gina Carano (Crush) is the most legit one in terms of toughness. She's a mixed-martial arts fighter who trains out of Randy Couture's gym. She's fought on Showtime's Elite XC promotion a couple of times. I believe her next fight is in March. Her dad Glen was a back-up QB for the Dallas Cowboys too. |

That was pretty much how they did it on the old show. I did, though, feel bad for that guy last night who got both feet on the platform but had Wolf wrapped
around him like he was getting a piggy back ride, so he could get his weight forward enough to stand on it without the ring.

I think Crush will break out and get her own show. Everyone I've talked to thinks she's the hottest one. I'd hit it.
I'm telling you, Hellga is just hype. She's good at pummeling people with those foam cubes, but not much else. |

I hope Crush remains and does leave after one season because of her ultimate fighting commitments. I LURVE her on the joust but I really want to see Hellga and
Stealth on the podium.

Missed it on Sunday, does anybody know if it's up on the net somewhere?
I've seen some clips and Fury's move on Hang Tough is stupid. I was so glad the military girl laid the smackdown on her and her crappy move. |

From the fcfighter.com database, Crush's MMA record is 5 & 0 and she fights in the 140 lb weight class:
W: Leticia Pestova - TKO (Dislocated right arm) 0:39 of round 1 That dislocated right arm sounds nasty! W: Rosi Sexton - TKO 4:55 of round 2 W: Elaina Maxwell - 3 round unanimous decision W: Julie Kedzie - 3 round unanimous decision W: Tonya Evinger - Submission (rear naked choke) 2:53 round 1 I saw her last 2 fights and she was much bigger than both opponents. The feeling is Showtime's promotion created the 140 lb weight class for her since she can't make 135 lb and is too small for 150 lb which are the established female weight classes. She gets a lot of grief from MMA fans because she has a hard time making weight even with this created weight class. She had be at 141 or less and the last two fights she weighed a bit more than 141, but the commissions OK'd her since they figured the bathing suit she weighed in at weighed enough to get her down to 141 and they didn't want her to strip naked to weigh in. Her next fight is Feb. 16th on Showtime.
