My bf was telling me about that Woody Hayes thing last night while we were watching the show.
I'll add my "poor Riggins" to the rest. I love his character. He was fitting in so well at Coach's house. I loved Coach's line to Tami about evening up the teams with Riggins staying there. The one area where Coach is totally unreasonable is about Julie, tho. Dang Julie anyway. She's such a pain in the ass. I love Landry reminding her that her breakup with Matt is her fault. The Matt/Carlotta thing has got to go, tho. I think Landry is handling Tyra correctly. I wanted to think that they were just having her push him away because of what his dad said to her and because she doesn't want to hurt him but I'm get the feeling that she's embarrassed by him. Which is pretty realistic for high school but she's always been less interested in that kind of thinking than the typical high school mean girl. I was surprised that she actually agreed to go to the dance with Chip. |

Loved everything about this episode. I have always had a thing for Riggins - gotta love those baaaaad boys. I'm not sure where they will go next for a relationship for him. My favorite part of the show had to be Riggins and Coach playing ping pong in the middle of the night and then asking Mrs. C to make them a snack - priceless!!! I laughed my ass off. Can't wait until the next new episode. |

Coach finally had a son to do all of things he can't do with Julie. I hate that they ended the Riggins living with Mr. and Mrs Coach so soon. I think
that dynamic could have been explored a little more. Especially since Shelly hadn't got to hook up with him yet. I was wondering how Riggins was handling
not having a beer than he went to get one - classic. This show is fantastic and that was a great episode.

I liked the episode quite a bit - but I couldn't help thinking - Why not just shove the girl into her room and shut the door? Who cares if she sleeps
on the floor in a drunken stupor? He got her home safe - that's enough.
Still, this is a very good show. I didn't see season one at all - I hope they rerun it soon. I think my favorite part was the kid overhearing the coach rip on the visiting coach when he was fixing the cable. That was great! |

No, they (Riggins and Lyla) were able to talk him out of the experimental surgery. He's still in the wheelchair. Went out on a date with a girl who told
him she was into peeing. I'm not kidding. The waitress at the restaurant, after hearing from him the date's revelation, helped him hide out and later
gave him a ride home. They made out in the car, he got home really late, which prompted his folks to admonish him for not letting them know where he was. He
apologized, said they were absolutely right, and then that's when he decided to move in with Herc.

Random musings:
- Best show on TV. Bar none. - Minka Kelly is so purdy it's criminal. - The buddy story is going somewhere good - I guarantee it. 'Desperate man does desperate thing'. - Landry's line - 'take it easy Richard Simmons' - loved it. - the weight room standoff. Riggins - missing dad, alcoholic runaway mom, alcoholic at 16 - he would have kicked the shit out of that skinny kid. - Next week looks awesome. A brawl will happen. Dillon will win by forfeit, but that game with come back to haunt them later in the season. For example, it will between them and another team to get into the tourney and the forfeit might be a check mark vs. an outright win. - Shelly/Riggins. One thing that does annoy me is that every highschool kid on this show is gonna fuck someone in their 30s. Sure, I know every douchebag on this site will chime in with their 'Cougar Conquests' when they were teens, but this shit doesnt happen that much. Tami don't take no bullshit, I'm surprised, she was so coy about the Shelly/Julie/Riggins flirting. I'd expect her character to keep her pimp hand strong. - Julies bouncy bouncy tits triple in size every week. |

My fave part of the ep was Julie and Shelly staring off into space while having breakfast... and the reveal that they were watching Riggins working out.
Tami's reax was priceless. Loved the porno channel, too. Landry's a football hero now. Why the hell would Tyra be ashamed of him, particularly with the added value of him having ided a rapist. Seriously, for all his smarts, he's a real life badass all of a sudden. Still, setting up the drunken Julie sequence so that Coach walks in at the EXACT wrong moment was nothing short of soap opera writing, and beneath FNL. As with this season in general, there'll be some classic FNL stories running along and then kerblamo! a stupid one pops up that detracts. |
