This season especially needed it. Yes LSU won the "National Championship" but there is truly no way to confirm that they are the BEST team. This
season was just so screwy that it was BEGGING for playoffs. Gah!

USC is probably the best team in the nation, but so what? They lost to Stanford at home. There's no guarantee that the best team will always win. If they did it would be fucking boring.

There's an argument for almost every team that won a BCS bowl that they are truly the National Champions. Legitimate arguments too. BCS is just fucked up.
