But here, ceegee, I'll fix the sentence.
Yeah FDR was rich too, but I think his real-life experiences with wealth and public policies to deal with poverty were more consistent. Oh and he was a way better politician, too.

Can Obama win a Southern State though?

As the election stands now (i.e. no huge stock market crash, recent terrorist attack) I think it's possible. Virginia has elected a black governor (who has
endorsed Obama as has the current governor of the state). I personally believe the amount of racists and level of racism that exists is less than the amount of
white people who would want to vote for Obama precisely because he is black so they could feel good about themselves as not racist and feel like they are a
part of history.
And given how depressed most Republicans are about the current GOP field, I could see a lot of Republicans staying home while blacks turn out in record numbers. Now leave it to the next generation of Lee Atwater to prove me wrong, but that's what I'm thinking now. Regardless, I really don't think Obama has any less of a shot of winning a Southern state than Hillary does. |

Major polls show Obama with 12-14% leads over Hillary.
Huge. But NH doesn't end campaigns. Michigan and SC followed by Florida I'm more interested in. |

I'll echo the 'little guy' sentiment. You know what, sometimes the "little guy" isn't in the right. I know it goes against your liberal bumper sticker philosophy but it's true. |

White folk will trip over themselves to support Obama. so much so that Oprah will back off on her support.
He wants to kick ass in Iraq, and that's all anyone knows about him. No garbage to lug around. Plus, he doesn't feel the need to rhyme his sentences, or speak with the "'cadence" that most black politicians do. So he is not scary to whites. |
