A lot of the non fans really have not seen the silly, quick wit, comical side of Clay. I don't know if he'll do well in this role, I'm kind of in the wait and see lane. I've seen the funny side of Clay many times, will that translate to a Broadway stage, time will tell.

I have no doubt that certain writers, like Michael Musto, Queerty and Perez, have already pre-written their negative reviews. It would be stupid not to take into account the source and the agenda. I also expect even more false sightings of Clay pouring his drunken self out of bars and taxi's accompanied by bevies of chorus boys. There were a bunch of these types of rumors and sightings during his last Christmas tour. One had him singing Christmas carols in a NY bar while he was on stage in concert in Minneapolis. There are haters and they will write lies and there will be people that believe them. Such is the price of fame.

Clearly you see what you want to see and ignore when I say something positive about Clay (or anyone else) because it undermines your continued agenda of playing the victim (something Claymates do so well) while continuing to bash everyone else. yes, going to a concert and just hearing beautiful singing...what a nightmare wtf is wrong with Carrie and Kelly Personally, I don't go to music concerts to laugh per se and I want singing more than antics. However, if those antics are spontaneous then fine, I find that entertaining. However, being a goof as part of a schtick isn't entertaining unless I'm in a comedy show, like Spamalot. I've seen Clay's shows, he's entertaining but his goofiness is planned and that takes away from the amusement for me. It's much like the "phone call" routine he did during IT...when I saw him in concert I was awed by him taking a phone call from a fan and probably making that fans day or year, it actually turned me into a fan in fact.....then as the reviews rolled in for that tour I found out that he did it at EVERY stop..and the exchange between Clay and the fan on the phone was almost always the same....it was a stunt and that took away the authenticity of the moment IMO.

He does do some things at multiple concerts but even those things change and evolve over the course of the tour. I'd say that 90% of his audience interaction and banter is off the cuff and that's why no 2 concerts are the same. You never know what he'll say or do and its so much fun. There's nothing wrong with just singing. Clay does that too, but not always and each tour is different. He can't please everyone. Some fans missed the fun and banter this Christmas tour. Last year some complained because he did banter with the audience. No 2 fans are exactly alike and that's just fine. To each his own. We've learned that if you don't like something, wait a bit, it will change.

He's still the only Idol I've actually spent any money on. and That's not all that much. The Pumpkin Carving Kelly did was cute but TO ME ( as in In My OWN opinion) she hasn't much stage pesence and there was no connection. for me..I can tell she does for you, but I got bored very quickly with her, carrie is still raw and improving but still just meh. , As to Clay using the Cell phone bit, it's kinda like Kelly drinking on stage huh, It was spontanious the first time but it became schtick too. It just wasn't very funny, ( and IMO not great for her rather young audincence) ILGE I am not a fantard, but I have had you PM me before several times( just not under this screenname) on the KCE (when I started watching AI many years ago) because I was a fan who disliked the fanwar shit. and I have no interest in Going there again. I admit I've seen you compliment Clay, but after the past and speciffically it being YOU I'm sceptical of any of your praise, I've seen too many fantard posts from you to really believe it. Not just here either, Once bitten so to speak. Sorry Shannon, (Some things I just don't forget..especially when you chose to make it personal).
