She didn't seem shrill at all - was just stressing her point. Women in general have a higher pitch voice when talking louder, and if that's bothering you just embrace the sexism. This isn't American Idol on who has hte best voice. |

Fixed? One is usually free to obtain medical treatment from a willing health care provider, provided one is willing to pay for said treatment. In most cases, the issue is whether the insurance company will pay for something. In that case, get the medical procedure, hire John Edwards (he won't be doing much in a few months) to represent you against the big evil corporate monsters, and sue their asses off.Yes, because coming up with the $70k upfront to even have the procedure done is SOOOOO easy for everyone. After the debate, an audience was asked who supported Hillary at teh start. A number of hands went up. The were asked who supports her now, and only a few were
up. The biggest beef - she doesn't answer questions and they don't trust her. This is why Obama is rising and she is falling.

Even if you like Hilary better than you like Obama, and I really can't imagine why anyone would, the facts remain:
a) as many have said, he's far more electable - Hilary's would have to hope that the Republicans put up someone like Romney, who's even more hated than she is b) Obama has proven that he can get bipartisan support for his proposals. I think we all know that even if Hilary managed to win a general election, it would be four years of even more partisanship than usual. The Republicans aren't going to support Hilary on ANYTHING. |

I don't know that Obama has ever demonstrated an ability to get bipartisan support, but he's likable and people trust what he's telling them. Now that Hillary and her skeevy ass husband are back on center stage, people are reminded of what they hated about them. She has always had questionable eithics and never comes across as sincere about anything except wanting to get elected. |

do you think the money that is paid to settle lawsuits comes froma money tree. it is also passed on to the consumer. limitting the amount of money that someone can win is a lawsuit is good for consumers, it helps keep the costs of goods and services down. most people in this country aren't rich, that is pro-poor people/middle class. i thought that was something that the democrats and liberals where for. just like how the cost of medical malpratice lawsuits are passed. Are you really saying that manufacturers should be able to skimp here and there on parts that keep their products safe so that the consumer of that product can pay less for it, but it doesn't matter if said product KILLS them? Ford Motor Company who killed numerous people over an $11 part should be let off the hook because that $11 part would have pushed the cost of the Ford Pinto up by $11? If an insurance company breaches its contract, the insured can seek damages, including punitive damages. Other than an insurer, nobody has to pay for X's transplant, except X. Nobody. Not you. Not me. Not some big, evil corporation with lots of money.
Since you obviously think someone should pony up $70k for liver transplants: Please find me the provision in the
US Constitution that says private corporations (or other citizens, for that matter) have to pay for the cost of an individual's health care.
