Just noticed the Open Casting Calls are up... at least a few of them. Nothing in the northeast yet. I actually enjoyed the casting calls more than sending in tapes, as you get to sit and size up your "competition". Granted, last time the bleach-blond casting lady blew me off without a second glance, but there were a lot of interesting people there and it was actually kinda fun.

I'm new to SS, but definitely not new to Survivor. Anyway, I have a question. Do they generally post more Casting Calls at a later point, or is this the only set that they are giving? I live in Texas.... Lubbock is 8 hours away. I like Survivor, but I don't know if I'm willing to drive that far, haha.

I'd send in an application, but I don't have a passport yet, nor have I applied for one. I've been told the Calls don't require you to have one. Thus I really want to go.

Well, I think Shreveport is four and half hours, which is a little better. In Texas you kind of have to drive forever to do anything. I'm used to traveling two hours or so to get to places.... heck, the closest wal-mart growing up was forty five miles away. But I don't know about going to another state, lol.

I sure hope that they offer more here. Especially since Lubbock isn't but 200K in population. I'm surprised Dallas/Houston/San Antonio doesn't have one.

Anyway, does the additional casting calls end when the mail-in applications are, or do they extend past that day? Thanks again.

Well anything within three hours I would definitely attend. Like I said, that's quite normal. Anything further.... I'm not so sure. The way gas prices are here, I'd probably be better off giving in and buying the passport. I can see why they need it, but seriously, it presents a roadblock for me.

So they are at random places, huh? That's kind of funny, I guess they want some diversity. Although, I'm not too familiar with the casting of Survivor, but I know most of Big Brother's contestants are recruited. Is it the same way?

All but one, huh? That would piss me off to.

Eh, I'm bored at work, so I don't really have anything else to do except to fill one out. I am a super fan of Big Brother, but I've seen my fair share of Survivor seasons as well. I've even met Rupert.... he is really not as big as you would expect him to be.

Anyway, who is the big wig when it comes to casting? Robyn Kass is for Big Brother. I know most of those people are recruited to.... I just wish they'd offer a chance for those of us not wanting to be a model or an actor. I just freaking want to win money!

Birdlady, I don't take too much offense to that. I can assure you though, if you are from Texas, you can go on vacation.... and still be in Texas. Many times people from Dallas/Ft. Worth go to San Antonio and vice versa. As a college kid pinching pennies, the only time I'll ever need a passport is to go down to Mexico to get my party on, although here lately they are allowing people to go down with just a driver's license and two other forms of identification until the passport nightmare is done with.

The application says you just need to have applied for a passport. I have had several family friends who have recently got a passport in about a week by going to Houston and paying some extra fee. I know that sounds insane, but it is the truth.

Do you guys have any inkling as to whether or not they will add any more casting calls? Historically, have they revised the open casting call list afterwards, or would y'all think it is pretty much set?
