great post, Michael. And that's how the magic trick is done. I never worry about visabilty, but end game ties, recalls etc. That's how editors work
and that's all we need to be concerned with.

Well at least we can't say we didn't see how Amanda lost. Poor thing-I feel really bad for her only getting one vote while Courtney the Stick got two
freaking votes.
I supposed we can't say that MB shows his female winners in the background since Amanda didn't win. However, there is one burning question of the day... CAN A FEMALE EVER WIN THE GAME OF SURVIVOR AGAIN?!?!?! I remember after All Stars it seemed as though a man would never win again. That was after 3 female winners in a row. We've now had 4 male winners in a row. |

Perhaps the women need to try a new strategy? Has any woman other than Amber won while hiding behind the actions of an alliance mate?
S1 - Kelly v. Rich - She started early in trying to pull away from the mean alliance while saving herself with immunity, but she was seen as fake by the Pagongs (some of whom voted for her anyway) and as a rat by the Tagis and lost. S2 - Tina v. Colby - She didn't hide behind Colby, basically telling the jury that it was just too bad if they got their feelings hurt. She asserted equality with Colby in their alliance, and it paid off, barely. Plus, she catered to the eventual jury members by pushing Colby into voting off Jerri and Amber. S3 - Kim v. Ethan - Kim was a complete tagalong to the Boran Boys and everyone knew it. She had no real argument to win, and she got thumped in one of the most anticlimatic final TC's ever. S4 - Neleh v. Vecepia - Probably this is the best example of a woman finalist trying to disavow responsibility for what occurred in the game, and as a result, she managed to lose a matchup she seemed favored to win. Vee won mainly because the jury voted against Neleh (though she wasn't quite as hesitant to take responsibility for her actions). S5 - Clay v. Brian - Not really relevant since Jan didn't make the F2. S6 - Jenna v. Matt - Jenna lucked out that she had to play on her own down the stretch and was against Matt, a player the jury did not respect. Against Alex, Deena, Heidi, or Rob, she may not have fared so well. S7 - Lillian v. Sandra - By the time of the finals, Lillian really had seized control of the game so it isn't like she was a complete tagalong, but in facing Sandra, she didn't even have a shield to protect her from the retaliation of the jury. Sandra, like Jenna, was lucky in not facing a formidable opponent. S8 - Amber v. Rob - Here's the example where it worked, but in this season, the betrayals became personal, making it much harder to reward Rob at the end, even against Amber. S9 - Twila v. Chris - Twila didn't hide behind anyone so it isn't really why she lost. S10 - Katie v. Tom - Apparently, being as worthless as possible is a great strategy for getting to the end, but it isn't nearly enough to get you a win. Plus, it is really difficult to put forward this strategy in front of a jury without really sounding pathetic. S11 - Stephenie v. Danni - Stephenie, like Twila, didn't really hide behind anyone so that isn't why she lost. Danni, of course, benefited by being a last member of the losing tribe. (This actually is a great strategy if you can pull it off.) S12 - Danielle v. Aras - Danielle couldn't distinguish herself from Aras, who actually had taken the lead and had taken the risks with regard to the immunity idol. Thus, she lost. S13 - Becky v. Yul v. Ozzy - Fair or not, Yul got all the credit for the Aitu's final dominance, and poor Becky was left in the shadows as Yul defeated Ozzy. S14 - Cassandra v. Earl v. Dreamz - I guess the F3 may have messed up Cassandra's plan to face off against Dreamz, in which case she might just have won (maybe). Against Earl, the de facto leader of the tribe, she had no shot at all. S15 - Amanda v. Courtney v. Todd - Courtney never pretended to be anything more than a tagalong and thus she really only had access to protest votes. Amanda's strategy seemed to be working during the game, but it doesn't play so well in front of the jury. It is hard to articulate the strategy of pretending to be nice while someone else gets the blame without really ticking off the jury (as is what happened). |

I picked Amanda because she was HOT. It's seriously as simple as that, seriously most of you should know what leads me to my favorites.

I'll do final ratings too!
Chicken - OTT Ashley - MORP Leslie - CPP Dave - OTTN Aaron - MOR Sherea - MORN Jaime - MOR Jean Robert - CPN Frosti - UTR James - OTTP Erik - UTR Peih Gee - CP Denise - MORP Amanda - MORP Courtney - OTT Todd - CP No way are Frosti & Erik anything but UTR. Look at Rita's ratings for Fiji. She had more visibility and MOR percentages than them, and she yet she ended up as UTR. If she's UTR, then there's no way that Frosti & Erik can't be. They're both UTR. Amanda & Denise aren't UTR, they both really took off in the second half of the season. |

"Heart wins over Brawn." Leslie's boot ep did stand out. She also labelled Todd and Courtney the munchkins. At the time, I took the heart over muscle as pointing to Peih-Gee. She was hitting a lot of the themes and her edit was being set above the other Zhan Hu edits. Until Aaron's boot and the way the edit gave it such a negative spin. Even then, her edit kept giving a mixed message about her character and game-play. But, like all Zhan Hu, she always lacked the end-game confessionals. She did talk to Jaime about the strategy of making the merge with a Zhan Hu majority, but this still fell short of an end game comment. A Player's Personal Refections on the End Game If anything is unique to Todd, over the other winner contenders that Edgic picked, it was the end-game comment. Peih-Gee: comments about the immediate story, comment about merge strategy, comments about surviving a few more days. Amanda: Her end-game comments were all in shared conversation with Todd. But we never had her private confessional that addressed her attitude about the end, the win. Her merge confessional was straight ahead strategy. It showed she had her head in the game, but there was zero confessional on herperception of the game and how she was approaching it. Her big strategic move against James also lacked any comment beyond the present situation. Her last IC win only had her say she "only wanted" to secure an F-4 spot. Courtney: We learned a lot about how Courtney ticked. We spotted the long-lasting quality of her edit from the very first, even though she said outrageously negative things. But, she never never never commented beyond "as long as it's not me". No winner comments, no end-game motivations. I eliminated Todd because he gave so much end-game comment so often! The winner is defined in the first half, probably in the first ep. My waiting for Amanda to gain depth after the merge was a big mistake. |

If you all want to get your final rankings in that's fine. Last season I took the tally of the final ratings and I'm happy to do it again. If you want
to make any changes as the tally commences, just repost your final ratings and I'll adjust! Hope that's OK with everyone.

cantthinkofaname wrote: I just didn't know if Sherea had enough of an overall impact to warrant a tone rating (my same waffling on whether to give Leslie a P or tone-deaf). To me, Jaime was a strong MOR character who had some good late N. And I <3'd her, just so you know - not one of the chauvinists trying to hand out N's to the cute blondes, don't worry. :) Blake, don't know if you want to count my votes - I have been active in Edgic before and kept up with it, but didn't vote for this season at all.
If you do want to, though, here's my final thoughts on those I wasn't sure:

idk, I don't think Edgic failed this season. In fact, didn't most people support Todd at merge? Well whatever you guys think, I know I didn't fail.
: } "Anyways, a lot of you really stuck to actual edgic, so I wouldn't say that edgic failed. What did fail was the self-control a number of Edgicers
pretend to have"-Rliss Thanks. I think the fact that multiple characters had a lot of support (and decent support btw) proves that this was a successful
season. Ratings for the finale--- ---Denise OTT2P I realyl hate her. She has no grasp on how the game should be played. And Frankly, I agree with
Courtney's statement minus the "she sucks at life part". I would have been utterly offended if Denise suddenlt broke out the "I get paid 7
bucks an hour" line. Bitch, you love your job, so deal with it. If you really wanted it so bad, you would have taken bigger risks, knowing you were out at
4th. UGHHHHHH "This is sooooooooooooo frustrating!" ---Courtney MOR3N bitch bitch bitch. She's officially surpassed Katie as my favorite funny
Survivor. <3 You hear that guys? OFFICIALLY! ---Amanda CP4M As much as I want to give her an N for her AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL attitude, I can't, because
that's not what the edit said. This bitch lost a lot of respect from me in the finale.... Overall, Amanda's edit was a pure carbon copy of Greg's.
All strategy one episode and no subtance whatsoever the next. ---Todd CP4M yayyyyyyyyyyyyy the super fan won! And I picked him at merge! This has been one of
my better seasons of Edgic despite being so damn busy! THE KEY SCENE WAS WHEN JR SINGLED HIM OUT. That's when the winner was revealed. And futhermore,
what's wrong with the negative tones that Todd received? I thought he was more negative than Brian. What's wrong with that? I'm one of those crazy
folk who doesn't believe Edgic works with returning players. Reason why? Because both ASS and Guat were about why the winner lost. I expect another lack
luster edit from the winner of Micronesia. Sorry, I'll still participate, but my confidence is already shot based on those two seasons... Maybe if we have
another Amber/Danni winner, we can include it in the guidelines!!! : } FINAL RATINGS: ***Chicken- OTTN is what I rated him. I feel no need to switch just
because majority has him as some ridiculous OTTM... lol ***Ashley- OTTM She was feisty and she was sick. ***Leslie- CPP conflict over her faith and how to play
the game. Very likeable. ***Dave- OTTN Crazy Dave and his slave-driving ability. ***Aaron- MOR blah got screwed by the twist. Characters like these don't
get too great of edits (Jenny, Michelle, etc.) ***Sharea- MORN she was lazy with a purpose. And she was bitchy when confronted. ***Jaime- MOR She was involved
with the HII. Romantic relationship with Erik. Leader of ZH. ***Jean-Robert CPN ass hole on purpose. Hated by all, very arrogant. But boy did he try to be
strategic! ***Frosti UTR I gave him a lot of Ps, but overall, he doesn't have much impact. ***James OTTP I cahnged from OTTM to OTTP. He's beloved.
***Erik UTRP cute virgin boy. Too nice for the game. ***PG CPP our late underdog and last survivor of ZH. Very complex. A few strong negative episodes but
overwhlemingly positive throughout. ***Denise Most Underdog from the get-go based slowly on her personality. She "needed" the money. I really did
love it when MB gave her 50k. That made me like thc chauvinistic pig just for that good deed. ***Amanda UTR She should get no rating different than Greg's
from Pulau. Anything else is ridiculous. ***Courtney OTTN Not particularly a villain, but someone we really aren't supposed to like. She's not
deserving, and didn't even want to be there in the first place. ***Todd CPN WILLING TO DO ANYTHING TO WIN. "Deal with it BITCH!"x40 Reminisicent
of a more "vibrant" and "emotionally erratic" Brian.
