So since people are wondering in various threads about the fact that they only showed 8 newbies, and the logo only has 8 figures paddling in the boat, I find myself wondering about the rumor from awhile back that this season would begin with a schoolyard pick'em ala "Survivor: Palau" which would end with 2 All-Stars becoming Micronesia's versions of Wanda Shirk and Jonathan Libby. Was that ever officially disproven, or did people just stop talking about it because they figured there was no way SEG would ditch 2 All-Stars (3 if they lose the 1st immunity challenge) in a single episode?

People have mentioned that Amanda didn't look too thin and seemed bummed out at the China reunion. Granted that probably has a lot to do with the fact that she just lost a million bucks. However I can easily see how she could be the victim of an All-Star schoolyard pick'em. From the limited episodes of China that the Micronesia contestants would have seen before leaving for Palau, the others might not see any reason to keep her around (especially if Cirie has some time to work things against her). And you know at least some of the All-Stars had to have heard the rumors of Amanda being the likely winner of China. Probably the some of the super-fans too, if they read any Survivor message boards before they left for Palau.
