Where are they now? - Colleen Haskell / Other Pre ASS Alums

I have less respect for someone like Jonny Fairplay who has made a career of being a Survivor alumni and appears on other reality television shows. I also have respect for people who use their status as a Survivor alum to raise money and provide visibility for a worthy cause or charity. Ethan and Jenna M. are the classic examples, thanks to Ethan's Grassroots Soccer charity and Jenna M.'s involvement with PETA. Getting back to the topic on hand, I wouldn't mind if CBS put together a reunion special where all 237 previous Survivors (including China) got together, with Jeff Probst moderating, and everyone got a chance to say what has happened to their lives since their appearance on Survivor. Maybe this could air close to February 7, when S16 starts. Barring a reunion special, then I wouldn't mind if someone at CBS or SEG took the time to contact every Survivor, find out what they're up to, and then either write an article for CBS' Watch Magazine or post the details on the CBS web site.

So would this reunion show be 17 hours long?

Because he's just an average guy who has deluded the public into showering him with attention and making him a 'celebrity,' albeit a D-list one if that, all because he appeared on 14 episodes of Survivor. Nobody is saying that you have to completely bury your reality TV stint after it's done. I mean, for any of the winners--you just won a half-million after taxes, all thanks to Survivor, so it's not like they could just say, "Well, the finale aired last month, Survivor is completely in the past for me now." But there is a certain dignity in knowing when to let go. You have to give kudos to people like Elisabeth and Colby, who arguably used the show as a leverage to get careers in the industry, but they're legitimate careers. I mean, when there's an article on Elisabeth nowadays, they don't even mention Survivor. Whereas articles on Fairplay are on gossip websites Greg, Colleen, etc...they don't owe us anything. They're not contractually obligated to come to Sucks once a year and give us an update, let alone allow CBS to film them ten years after the fact. They'd probably be shell-shocked if somebody told them that we were still talking about them seven years on. I'll give all the contestants credit for doing charity work and whatnot. I think with Grassroots Soccer it's moved beyond just being "that Survivor guy's charity" but I really don't follow any of that. Like I said, I can't really criticize them if they really enjoy it. I just think they need to concede that there's a "shelf life" for reality TV "fame."

Man, I'm starting to feel old... Honestly though, what past Survivors do with their time on the show afterwards is completely up to them and I don't begrudge them using what they got out of it in whatever way they want, whether it's in private or in the public eye. (It allows to see how ridiculous Fairplay can act in public, if nothing else. ) Of course, the whole issue of respect is entirely an individual one.

She said she didn't have a bit of sympathy for Rupert and his "So much for my dreams" crap. Basically she said winning Survivor was a dream for a lot of people, and thought Rupert was a self-aggrandizing fool.

I mean really, how many people here WOULDN'T pay to see someone take JFP's head off with one of those?

All the more reason to love her. <3 Seriously, she's possibly the nicest castaway to play the game; she's very kind and good hearted by nature. She had the perfect profession for her.

I think you have something here, not EXACTLY this, but maybe with a little tweaking. How about instead of those "Pringles favorite moments!" crap they do two 30-45 second clips each episode leading into commerical that quickly tells us what 2 people (guy and girl from each season) have been up to the past few years. Call it "_______'s(whatever sponsers) life after "survivor" moment". They have a clip of what the survivor looks like now as they live their daily lives with a voiceover behind them... "A Georgian Judge, Paschal English was famous in season 4 for being the the first person to leave tribal councel with no votes against them....now he enjoys life after Survivor by staying a fan of the show and traveling with his wife and spending time with his new grandson peter....(?)" idk but something along those lines...and then do another for, say, Neleh. Do all the famous people that werent on ASS. (I know I sound like a newbie with this list...but I dont do um often ;) ) (thinking they'll have at least 15 episodes with 20 peeps) Season 1: Gervase & Colleen 2: Keith and Marylin 3: T-Bird and Brandon 4: Pappy and Neleh 5: Helen and Ted 6: Christy and Butch 7: Lil and Burton 8: Rupert () and Shi-ann 9: Twila and Chad 10: Ian and Katie 11: Steph and Rafe (Id say lydia but that would be to awkward and sad) 12: Danielle and Shane 13: Cao-Boi and Parvati 14: Dreams and Michelle 15: Todd and PG a different pair each ep and their you have it; an interesting line up and a waste of my time ;)

It'd just be Probst talking to Mad Dog for 4 minutes trying to cut her off, while the other fame whore's tried to squeeze as much time they could into their 9 second segment.

It would focus on more of the stars of the seasons. Also, Neleh came back from Survivor and became a reporter for CBS, got married, and is now a stay at home mom.
