That is completely unfair because he did NOT win. I just hope Rini gets the spot. Poor Joy. I love her so. This was my favorite English performance of hers. What a voice. A true gospel diva in every sense of the word.

I understand that there were some contractual disagreements between Tobing and Idol, but that's not a reason to use the runner-up to represent the country. I don't know how anyone else feels, but I certainly don't think Joy's successors were ever to her level, not even Rini. As it stands, I think Jaclyn Victor is the person to beat. But I'm hoping for a Phuong Vy surprise win! I've only heard her sing Vietnamese songs, certainly songs I don't understand, but I love her attitude, her power, and her singing mannerisms. Does anyone have a clip of her singing something in english (if she ever sang a song in english)?

These were the English songs that they sang: Delon Thamrin - "Broken Vow" by Josh Groban Mike Mohede - "I Believe I Can Fly" by R. Kelly Ihsan Tarore - "Angels" by Robbie Williams Rini Wulandari - "Crazy In Love" by Beyoncé Link to the Indonesian songs Frankly, I'm underwhelmed by this bunch. Delon and Mike can sing but are pretty boring. Rini is rather thin-voiced. Ihsan just plain sucks. I still like Rini the best in terms of overall package. She was much better in the Indonesian song, but "Crazy In Love" was too big and too fast and totally consumed her. That was a very Jasmine Trias-like performance. She needs to stop trying to belt out songs outside her limited range. Joy clearly owns them all. I can safely say that Indonesia's not going to win this. According to wikipedia, Mike Mohede is now the Indonesian Idol representative. I tried confirming it on the Asian Idol official site, but there doesn't seem to be any updates. Is there anyone out there who followed the results show? I'm a little curious as to how it played out.

Jac and Mau were okay and IMO the most talented but weren't at the top of their game. Abhijeet and Phuong were clearly more comfortable singing in their own language than in English. Hady sucked donkey balls. As for the winner: Spoiler [+] Hady... WTF?! I thought that no way this could be any worse than World Idol. But it actually was and with the worst possible winner! And he sang the same song as Kurt... HORRIBLY. Wasn't this originally supposed to be a weekly elimination thing instead of a one-time show? What a disappointment. Mike from Indo being last is very funny . How ironic the largest country (Indonesia) ended up on last place, while really small country like Singapore is the top vote getter
