i think the funniest little throwaway moment was when lemon's mom gives jack the popcorn tin, but quickly rips off the bow and puts it in her purse!
my mom used to try and get away with recycling bows too, and it made me a little happy and a little sad inside at the same time. |

I love 1985 Mitch :)
Fantastic ep. Elaine Stritch might have earned herself another Emmy. |

I'm talking about your parents...what did you mother mean when she said you were a beautiful genius? Was she taunting you? |

Did anyone else catch the alcohol ankle bracelet gag?
I paused the map. M. Lohan and L. Lohan were being monitored in CA, while D. Lohan was being monitored in NY. I couldn't make out who was being monitored in Alaska or Texas though... |

Jack's line to his mother that her life seems endless (in that quiet hiss of his) had me in tears!
Baldwin deserves an Emmy for his performance in this show. |

Then when they said, "lemon party" again at the restaurant my first thought was "you gonna run that into the ground?" But before I could finish that thought in my head the words "old dick" echoed in my brain and I almost died. Truly the best line of the night. And hats off to Tina Fey for working in those anti-pop culture references for those who appreciate it. Tina Fey <3 <3 <3 |

That's my best guess. We know she's a Star Wars fan (not the Strategic Defense Initiative).

I like this show a lot. How is it doing in the ratings? I heard possible cancellation rumors way back. With the strike lasting a long time and the spring
season in jeopardy, I am wondering about their fate.
I hope it wins the golden globe for best comedy. Definitely deserves it. |

Its ratings aren't great but they're around the same as last year, maybe up a bit. And more importantly they have a very decent demographic rating.
Last Thursday's show got a 3.7, with a 2.8 demo. Compared to a 4.0 overall and 2.9 demo last year is actually better than it looks because last year's rating was against a repeat lineup of Grey's/CSI while this week's rating was against new episodes - and the demo barely budged. Overall the numbers look small but with a solid demo and low expectations (up against Grey's and CSI) AND an Emmy win I would expect NBC to at least pick it up for next season. Especially since this season might just be over. |

Lots of love in from the SAG today. Tina and Alec got nominations and the show was nominated for ensemble cast.

Anyone else use "Blerg" as an expression too?

^ Yes! But I was misspelling it (as "blurgh") for a while ... or is this a term that doesn't really have/need a correct spelling?
