I don't know...that still leaves a "friend". Ida was none of the leading ladies' friends. She was nothing more than a neighbor (and an irritating one at that!) I sure hope it was Tom & the kids (though, Tom is oh so pretty). I wonder if Marc Cherry has the balls to kill off another main character...something that hasn't been done since the season 1 finale (Rex). Every other character that has been killed off since then has been a minor one.

Cuz, if Tom were to have been killed off, he'd count as both a husband and a friend to the rest of the ladies. "In four short hours one of these women would lose a husband and all of them would lose a friend." Perhaps Tom dies (his throat closed up because of his allergies in the basement) but the kids survived in the shelter of the basement. Not once does MA say that kids would die. Marc Cherry has also stated that an audience would not give a show for killing off pets or children. So...I doubt the kids died. But, they probably witnessed Tom's death while Lynette was out rescuing Mrs. McCluskey.

Mmm...just a theory.
