There shouldnt be a mandatory lights out time, but there should definitely be an annoying alarm that goes off in the morning that doesnt go off until everyone is up and out of bed...and the alarm goes back on anytime anyone goes to sleep during the day (just like in BBUK). That way those who need a lot of sleep will just start going to bed earlier, and those who dont need as much can stay up as late as they please. It would be one step in the right direction of BBUS getting a lot tougher on the HGs like BBUK.

Why do they wait a few days before the feeds come on anyway?

Because they want the HGs to get used to their mic packs & various rules before going live on the feeds. For some stupid reason the producers don't want to air them talking to the HGs. It sucks.

I was just going to cancel Showtime now that Dexter had its finale....
I hope its the old After dark until 2 peeps are on the jury.

I hate the bedtime rules, let them go to bed whenever they want, but wake them up by noon.

I'm glad this is on in the winter, makes it easer to see more of it when you're snowed in.

Network plans ninth edition of 'Big Brother'

Big Brother 9 Confirmed! Plenty of nonscripted fare is in the works: CBS officially greenlit the first-ever in-season edition of CBS summer staple Big Brother on Monday, while NBC last week announced premiere dates for several reality skeins. Fox will lean heavily on "American Idol" during the first half of the year, as always, while giving a massive promo push to a new gameshow.

Indeed, the biggest strike shift at CBS is the scheduling of "Big Brother" three nights a week. The Eye had been mulling the idea for the past month.

The ninth installment of the summer staple will make its bow Feb. 12, at 9 p.m. (serving as a lead-in for "Jericho"). Julie Jen-hosted reality skein will also air Wednesday and Sunday nights at 8.

The Tuesday edition of Big Brother displaces scripted series "The Unit" the Wednesday and Sunday episodes take the place of reality shows Kid Nation and "The Amazing Race", that will have wrapped their respective runs by February.

Winter air pattern for "Brother" is also very similar to the skein's summer sked, in which episodes run on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights. Eye is still planning a summer edition of "Brother."

Also on the reality front, CBS will unleash another cycle of "Survivor"on Thursdays starting Feb. 7.

Before "Big Brother" starts up, CBS will fill the vacancy left by "Kid Nation" by airing new episodes of quizzer "Power of 10" Wednesdays at 8. Two extra episodes of Saturday newsmag "48 Hours" will also air on consecutive Tuesdays, Jan. 22 and 29, at 10 p.m.

I am curious if they will still be able to pull off a summer series right after doing this one? That will be a quick turn around.

Dammit!

I was going to boycott this winter edition because my hate for the studios screwing the writers is strong.

But this is like the season that they seem to actually be listening to the viewers. Sequester House footage? Awesome! Rule breakers having to pay a price? Awesome! Making them actually do stuff instead of laying around in bed all day? Awesome!

The best part is the "no links between HGs!" They absolutely need to stick to this plan... It'll make all the difference between a potentially awesome season like 2 & 3 or a disappointment of craptacular proportions like 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8

Yeah but as evident by this season, we won't get anything good. Remember when it was Dick and Zach in the first round and they kept switching over to Dani? I'm 100% sure they told her to stay in the house so Showtime could show her eating and keep Dick and Zach off.

BB2 and BB3 are the best seasons by far....... the best twist they could have for BB9 is a NO TWIST.

Well from my understanding, if Big Brother airs Tuesday at 9 and Wednesday at 8, it will not conflict with the regular 1-hour American Idols because Americal Idol will air on Tuesdays at 8 and Wednesdays at 9. Of course, American Idol is on like 32 hours a week in the beginning stages, but once they get down to the top 12, they will fit into their regular hour slot.

I don't regularly subscribe to Showtime*, (HBO fan here), but I would re-up during 2 seasons of BB Afterdark, if that is the case.

*seems dumb that they would discontinue AD, especially loving the 'no WOD ' feature, whatever, I guess they have so many porn subscribers, they don't care.

How exciting! I hope my next semester of classes aren't much work or I MIGHT not do so hot haha

ALSO I have been procrastinating canceling my live feeds because frankly, i'm lazy....but now i guess i'll just forget about it and just keep it until the end of summer haha

For the first month BB airs, Idol will still be on Wed @ 8. It will get killed in the #s, but hopefully it can stay afloat.
