Pete Burns sues over 'repulsive' lip op - Jan 25 2007
Dead Or Alive singer Pete Burns is suing his plastic surgeon for making him look "physically repulsive". The Celebrity Big Brother star claims Dr Maurizio Viel botched his lip augmentation, and his lawyers have now issued High Court proceedings alleging negligence. Pete claimed side effects from the augmentation treatment carried out at the London Centre for Aesthetic Surgery included painful swelling, blisters, heavy discharge, and an inability to eat, drink or speak. The damage was so bad doctors have since warned him his lips may need to be amputated, the singer said. "What happened to me after a series of injections was far worse than any nightmare I could have envisioned," he said. "Not only was it agonisingly painful but it was physically repulsive in the extreme. "It was impossible to lead any life whatsoever. I was unable to leave my house as I was so distorted with swelling and I might begin to discharge yellow pus that was coming from the holes in my face." The singer claims to have undergone more than 100 operations over 17 months in a bid to reconstruct his face. "At times it leaves me seriously suicidal and depressed and I could have problems for the rest of my life," he said. "If I can prevent at least one person from undergoing this hell and point them in the right direction to a doctor who can manage their problem, then at least I can help stop someone else suffering." 
And this yummy description The following description from Pete's own lips depicts the amount of pain and suffering he had to deal with (there are some minor omissions). ''My immune system was attacking the foreign material in my body. I touched my face and i heard this hissing sound and I was probably three feet away from my living room mirror and the sound was...you could hear it........pssst.....and then when I looked, this stuff has splattered all over the mirror, and then I pressed my cheek and it go...pssst...again...it was making this hissing sound. It was squirting everywhere. It was the body creating inflammatory fluid but in an absolutely extreme battle to try and push out the substance. That's HAWT! |
