Don't get me wrong, I love that Amanda has finally emerged and is taking charge, but she would be foolish to got to the finals with Erik, and maybe even
Peih-Gee. They're in the minority, and are making no real enemies, except maybe in Peih-Gee's case because she annoys people, but going against Erik
would be game suicide. Her best bet, IMO, would be a combination of Peih-Gee, Courtney, and Denise. I think the latter two might be her best bet.

I think any combo but having Erik will be alright for her. All she has to do is work with Zhan Hu for 1 round to really earn their jury respect. All she has to do is blindside Todd for 1 vote to make herself look like the puppet master. I imagine her plan is just a temporary flip to gain overt control of the game, and then she'd probably flip back and that way she'd have worked with everyone at some point in the game. She seems liked enough where she shouldn't piss too many people off for backstabbing, especially if she goes back and "saves" Fei Long. We'll eventually find out what she's thinking. Erik is like Danni though, so I agree it wouldn't be a good idea to stick with Erik long-term. It's possible she sort of likes him, because she likes Erik like she said in that 1 confessional, and just trusts him more since he's been more stable than Courtney and Todd who has been curt and sneaky respectively. We'll see what happens and hear from her post-game though |

I don't understand telling a boot decoy like Peih-Gee to "act like you know you're going home." We saw the same thing with Caryn in Palau
and Stacy in Fiji, where someone gets the idea that the best way to blindside someone is for the decoy to withdraw from the group, or accept their presumed
fate and say goodbye to everybody. Isn't that what tipped the coup plotters' hand in Fiji? Wasn't the fact that Stacy seemed too apathetic about
losing what made Yau-Man paranoid enough to play the idol? Acting as though you think you're going to be booted and don't care should be a dead give
away. Knowing Peih-Gee's modus operandi up until now, James should have expected her to scramble like hell if she really thought she was going. So
that's exactly what Amanda should have told her to pretend to do, if she was going to say anything about the blindside attempt in the first place. They
lucked out that James wasn't smart enough to catch on either way.

I'm just so glad James is finally gone...he's been irritating the fuck outta me since day 1 and to see not only James, but both of those stupid idols
disappear...all is finally right with Survivor again.

RavuRules wrote:I don't think anyone's said that about the Fiji version of the HII. This is even true for the old idols, although you lose the blindsiding element and of course the EI/CI idols are more powerful for that reason. There's no really good way to work around the EI/CI idol. It was far too powerful because, no matter what, the person who had it would get to avoid their boot. The only way to work with that was to set up the alternative boot for the TC as well, but that's very difficult to successfully do, especially if the idol power has any sort of influence in the tribe. The EI/CI HII is hugely different from the Fiji/China HII in terms of power. I already thought she was a strong strategist even before any big move, but certain posters like PT only recognize strategy when it smacks them in the face with an exciting and fancy backstabbing move so there you go. |

Didn't he say to Earl before that tribal council that he had "bad vibes" or something? I would too if the designated boot seemed calm and content to lose when they should be desperate. |

SwineForkbeard wrote:That's what I thought, too, but then Yau-Man actually (surprisingly) said in an interview that Stacy's comment really did tip him off without a doub that he was being blindsided. It's debatable whether he would have played the HII without Stacy making that comment. |

I don't think Amanda is that good of a player at all. She just happened to be in the right place at the right time. If she was on Zhan Hu she would be a
pagongee and if Jamie was on Fei Long, Jamie would have probably won. Anyway, it was a good idea to blindside James but she went about it very wrong by
telling desperate Peih-Gee. Besides that, if she was going to tell her, she should have done it right before TC, instead of doing it mid-day and letting a
loose canon like Peih-Gee savor information like that. This could have blew up in her face bigtime if that dumbass Erik had played his cards right.
Erik played this the worst. He knew he had immunity and nothing to lose. Whyy didn't he, before the votes were read, tell James to pull out his idol or his ass was going home. I am positive James would have done it and PG would have chimed in as well especially considering she had nothing to lose as the votes had already been cast. She then could have used the discussion her and Amanda had to her advantage. I don't care what anyone says, Amanda approaching PG was unnecessary and could have easily blew up in her face if Erik was a better player. |

So happy that Amanda is finally emerging...I could totally see her winning this. I thought about Peih-Gee switching it up and telling James, it might have
worked but it really could have gone against her. I could see James pulling a Rupert and going to Todd and stuff and yelling why were they going to vote for
him and then it all going against Jaime.
I don't know who Amanda has a good shot against, if Peih-Gee is rubbing them all the wrong way then maybe her...and maybe if she can talk to Todd and Courtney about her playing a good game, maybe them as well. I wonder why they are playing up the Courtney/Frosti thing in the recap though... And geez what a big let down to the "to be continued" ending we've seen for three weeks. A fucking reward challenge? Lame. |

wtf was with amanda's voting statement? "I have to go with the majority?" I cant even imagine how it would be edited to make it look like amanda
was behind james' boot while not being true, because she actually did say all those things and she was the one to go and talk to courtney and todd. Why did
she say that?!?!?

Someone said in another thread that since she knows the game and that the distance from the voting booth and tribe members is so close, that she said something nice in case there was a chance James heard what she was saying while voting. It does seem strange though. |

I dont believe that she would expect james to hear. If she was worried about him hearing, she wouldnt change what she was saying, she would just say it
quieter.
Did she actually change her mind and want to keep James? Or was her voting confessional a lie? |

It's not out of the question. It's been mentioned by past contestants that the voting booth was much closer to the castaways than it was in the earlier
seasons, and Roger from Amazon said he heard Rob C's voting confessional.

Excellent episode. Everyone played things just right I think. Amanda told Peih Gee just enough so that she knew what was going on. Todd, Courtney and Denise
were all for it since it made perfect sense. I'm not sure about the editing making it seem like Amanda was trying to get the votes together since Todd was
the one previously who had been thinking of blindsiding James. I'm sure they all talked about it at different times.
If Peih Gee had wanted to really mix things up, she didn't need to talk to James at all since he was all for keeping his alliance together and he would obviously go back with anything she said to him. All she would have to do was just speak up right after the votes are made and told James to use his idol, like Kirblar suggested. Of course, she would have had to make sure Erik voted for Todd as well beforehand. But I think the most likely result from such a move would have been unpredictable and that's why I think Peih Gee did the right thing by going along with it. I always love blindsides. The reaction from the jury is always a highlight, as well as tribe members who can't hide their glee. Courtney is still the most watchable person there. You can always count on her for the sarcastic comments. Nice to see more strategy talk from her and Denise as well. |

The thing about Peih Gee and Erik is that James Had to Go. If James stayed it would not have beenTodd and Amanda giving him the million but
PG and Erik.
Erik could've shaken up the votes but he may think Amanda is on his side and she can help him much more than Peih Gee or James at this point. In fact, Erik would want PG on the Jury! With her there, Erik beats everyone else that's left, including Todd. Why blindside Todd and lose Amanda? With James and PG sitting next to Erik in the F3, Frosti votes PG, Jaime votes Erik but then a whole batch of votes falls in the direction of James. Going with James for 1 vote but then trying to turn around and voting him out is extremely difficult. James would still have 1 idol and he's a challenge threat. Now, Erik is the challenge threat or at least the biggest guy left!!
