The film is devoid of intelligence. There is N O T H I N G thought-provoking or interesting about the last half-hour of the movie. Yes, there are plenty of intense moments and intriguing scenes that draw the viewer in, and some of them perhaps do have some genuine philosophical ideas to them. And this movie is unique from Mystic River and The Departed by having a very original, creative plot which draws the viewer in even more. But the ending kills it; you just don't care by the end.

and by this I mean that they present the dialogue and visuals in a way to suggest there is something meaningful, something thought provoking in them, when in reality there is nothing of true interest or inspiring at all.

But it will probably win best picture anyway, because all film critics and members of the academy are of the same conforming, lemming idiotic mindset that any movie with excessive violence and "shock" combined with a light touch of philosophical, abstract-based dialogue can be classified as meaningful or even "profound." But it isn't profound; it's pseudo-art, art that is attempting to lure fools into believing there is something profound within it, when really, there isn't anything worthwhile at all. .
