I'm not surprised by the surge in ratings. When people found out that TAR wasn't orginally on the Fall lineup alot of people were shocked and upset.
TAR doesn't get the ratings that Survivor gets but its still a reality TV staple that has a huge following.

Also at 8 p.m. was week two of CBS' The Amazing Race 12 (Viewers: #3, 10.48 million; A18-49: #4, 3.1/ 8), which is vast improvement over one time wonder
Viva Laughlin;
These were the highest demo numbers for CBS for the night. Also no football overrun this time. Very solid numbers. |

Given Viva's terrible ratings, TAR's look amazing. It will never be as popular as Survivor, so hopefully CBS is simply content with TAR being a decent
hit.

the best 18-49 for cbs on the night which is the most important.. i think tar would actually do better at 9..cold case would be a better lead in than 60
minutes and it would also get away from extreme makeover

when its over run and goine up against desperate housewives the ratings in the 18-49 have increased.. desperate housewives and tar are not neccessarily the
same audience..

I think TAR is fine where it is. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

You stupid fucking moron, TAR and Desperate Housewives have the same audience: women and gay men. This is the same show which has a twenty-page topic dedicated to someone's breasts. |

Not. The Amazing Race has a huge "family" audience. Desperate Housewives is not a show you would watch with your children. |

DH is a show no one should watch.

NBC took the lead at 8 p.m. with its "Sunday Night Football" telecast, 8.0/12. "The Amazing Race" delivered a 7.5/11 for CBS, topping
ABC's broadcast of the American Music Awards. FOX dipped to fourth overall (but won the 18-49 demo) with "The Simpsons," 6.5/10, and "King
of the Hill," 5.5/8. "Life Is Wild" scored a 1.1/2 for The CW.

TAR12 is #19 for the week based on total viewers. Not too shabby for a 3rd week epi without a killer lead-in. It beat out the AMA show by about 50,000 viewers,
a broadcast that ABC used for Sweeps.

So are those good or bad numbers??? I have never and probaly never will understand them, as hard as I try.
If it helps, I think the race had 7.5/11 last week, so I'm guessing 7.6/11 is even better??..maybe?? lol |
