I think they said winter BB is a go no matter what happens with the strike.

Omzig....I didn't get the feeds last time. Everyone is doing such a good job with Utube...why waste the money and the time.

Ms. Poms, as far as the money, it's a pretty cheap form of entertainment.
The Time issue is what I'm worried about. Maybe I should just stick with the youtubes. |

They aren't going back to the table to negotiate until the 26th. And the stories I've read don't seem like anyone is going to budge anytime soon.
Just my take. |

I hope they stay out for a while. I'm beginning to look forward to this BB since hopefully it's on short enough notice so that they can't cook up
any stupid gimmicks.

Everything is Eventual wrote:Courtesy of: NYDAILYNEWS For 'Big Brother,' the winter of new content BY CRISTINA KINON DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Friday, November 16th 2007, 10:14 PM 'Big Brother' host Julie Chen The writers' strike has CBS ramping up for a new season of "Big Brother." Indeed, the network will be casting for new players here Sunday in anticipation of getting a winter edition of the summer show rolling early next year, should the strike continue. "We have been told by CBS to get ready for anything, so there's nothing that is certain at this point," "Big Brother" executive producer Allison Grodner told the Daily News yesterday. "It is a wait-and-see. We are preparing for anything." New York auditions are taking place Sunday at 243 W. 30th St., third floor, from noon to 8 p.m., and on Dec. 1 at Duff's Brooklyn, at N. Third St. and Kent Ave., from 7 to 10 p.m. "Big Brother" has always been a summer staple, but the opportunity for a prime midseason premiere means producers will be pulling out all the stops. "We really want it to stand out," said Grodner. "We want it to be special, because we've never done something like this before. I promise you it will be different from any other 'Big Brother' you've ever seen." So don't expect another "America's Player," the stunt incorporated last summer that gave viewers a say in the outcome. "That's really hard to do twice," Grodner said. "Anyone coming to be a part of 'Big Brother' this year would know about it and we'd hate to have people act differently because they think that the viewers are in control. ... That doesn't mean that it couldn't return in some other way, but doing exactly what we did again, no." Longtime "Big Brother" host Julie Chen will also be returning to the program, regardless of whether it comes back midseason or next summer. |

If BB9 is a go for early February that means the producers really have less than 2 months to pick the cast go through all the pre-interview BS and all the
psych tests etc. They usually have much more time to go through everything. Typically BB casts from April - June. Not to mention all the other aspects of
producing the show including challenges and furnishing the house etc. I hope everything doesn't seem like it was thrown together quickly and seem rushed. I
bet the upcoming season will have the most recruits to date though. I think it will be a little harder to find your everyday person that is willing to go on a
show and be in seclusion for three months in the middle of winter...when most younger people are in school and whatnot.

Good point. I hope the cast isn't a bunch of old people.

it won't make a fucking bit of difference. fame whores are for all seasons. there are plenty to fill the bill and it won't matter one bit what time
of year it is.

This is great news. They did say in EW that it shouldn't affect the summer show so that's good news.
