Both are Eccentrics, and they were duking it out for the rights to the position. As we wave good-bye to John-Robert, let's see what's left: PG - Parent Denise - M? Courtney - E Amanda - D Todd - S Erik - S Frosti - S James - S Traditional FF4 rules indicate that, based on who's left, our F4 most likely will consist of: Parent (PG or Denise) Daughter (Amanda) Son (Todd, Erik, James or Frosti) Eccentric (Courtney) f I had to call it today, I'd say our F4 will be PG, Amanda, Todd and Courtney. Next boot: We have way too many Sons right now, so I'd say one of them goes next. Except, of course, that PG seems to be the next in line for the boot. Maybe she wins immunity? Will watch and wait. After Aaron's comment that the tribe "...chicks don't need a mother hen anymore." at Leslie's boot, I wonder how much we at Sucks and FF4 actually influence how the survivors are playing the game these seasons! Certainly, playing the Mom role has been identified by some of the older women as a way to survive. Lydia said in a confessional that she was using it as a conscious strategy. Aaron seemed to recognize that Leslie was trying the same thing.

Ah, well, what've we got to work with now? I was right, we did lose one of the Sons this week, but we still have too many of them hanging around. And Courtney appeared very D like this time, and not at all as an E. So, here's how I classify them: S - Todd, James, Erik D - Admanda, Courtney E - PG, Denise? P - Denise? PG was annoying everyone, and her tribemates say she took John-Robert's place (as E), but I just can't classify Denise. She feels on the outside of her tribe. James straight out lies to her face about informing her of the JR boot. I think Denise goes soon, leaving our group parentless.

You could think of them as OTT in edgic in a way--except that their eccentricity colors everything about them. These people are just...how do I say this?...odd. A little weird. If there was a question about a person being an E or something else, they are probably something else. [sometimes isolated/hermitlike, sometimes well-liked/drunken/odd hobbied] Just because you're an outsider doesn't mean you're E, and just because you are E doesn't mean you will be an outsider, right? Obviously in real life she's a mother, and she's pretty much be the mother of everyone left out there, but she doesn't take the lead like a parent. Are we counting P-G as F or M? Is Denise M? What a weird season. I like the family seasons so much better. :)

Did we resolve that P-G was an M or an F or a parent? 4) the F2 will not be two dads nor two moms. (0/15) CORRECT! Now the FF4 predictions for F2 and winner: 5) the F2 generally will not be two kids. (3 of 14) However, in the rare case the F2 is two kids, at least one will be an "unusual" child with strong "adult" (leader) tendencies. Looks like it is very possible to have two kids in the F2 this time--if Todd is F2, he'd be that "leader" type of kid. 6) the winner will not be E. (0/14) Unless it is Courtney, and we agree she is an E. What a weird season this is! 7) If a parent (Denise) is in the F2 with a non-parent, the parent will win. (7/8) These are both outside-of-FF4 predictions from wayyy back when that have held up most seasons: * At F4, the second most likeable (Amanda) has the best chance; the least likeable (Courtney) can't win (Kirblar's observation). * The most popular person (Denise or Amanda) going into the F3 has NEVER WON the Final IC (Craig's observation). As of after ep 11, DENISE is the most popular (!) at 21%, followed by Amanda at 16%, and Todd at 14%. Courtney has 3%.

Which is sort of a gender crossing role - it's a mother, obviously, but in a lets-make-camp-in-the-woods sort of way, not in a nurturing, homemaking way. I still see Denise as the Eccentric. She's stayed outside of the sibling relationships and has been the loyal "low man on the totem pole" as she said this episode. I don't like what the twist has done to FF4 this year, Lady V. As the farmers say, "There's always next season." ;-)

I'm not partial to the schemers being the winner, it seems. It surprised me Amanda was not able to argue her case well during the final tribal council--she had a lot of points she could have made, if she had appealed to the tribe's family feelings. But perhaps the reason Todd won was because this was another Neverland tribe of kids, with no strong parental figures, and therefore, no strong family feelings, so a self-aggrandizing, manipulative player could easily win. Interesting how Courtney became tearful about Leslie and Sherea... the lost moms... Next season should be different. I wonder if the past players will keep their past family identity, or will change, as Rupert did from S7 to S8. I also wonder how many of the 'fans' are posters on Sucks (!). Very exciting. Will they all try to position themselves as schemers now, since the fathers are being axed sooner over the past few seasons overall? I would give the fans an advantage, since they all know all of the favorites. Seeing the survivors on the reunion show clarified some things about their roles. Sherea, for instance, behaved quite unlike a typical mother, and she behaved quite unlike one on the show, as well. I agree with FLF--Denise was the outsider, and I could see her as eccentric. It seems to me we had a lot of eccentric behavior on the show this season: Jean-Robert, Denise, James, Courtney (who was classic E during the last 2 eps). I suppose they had to play that up just for something interesting, since they had SO many kids. Ah, well. Bring on S16!

Courtney was always OTT in her outrageous, yet honest comments, but seemed very much the Sister. But she also had aspects of the outsider (as she herself often pointed out) and Todd and Amanda originally decided to bring her in as an expendable weakling. Denise also had the attributes of the Eccentric. She too called herself an outsider and she never had sibling-like relationships with the others. She also had Mother aspects in her talk of her age and her her family and children. At the end she and others talked of her jury strength as her having children.

Jon seemed to take naturally to the F role again (comments on JFP) Amy-M Yau Man-E (he's just kinda wacky) Eliza, Amanda, Pavarti-D Ozzy, James-S Cerie-? We didn't see enough of her. Fans- Wacky Kathy-E Chet-E? One guy seemed kinda F-ish to me and the young guy and the big guy seemed S. Honestly I can't remember any of the Fan women besides Kathy. More to come next week.

He's smart, diplomatic, and too old to be a Brother and not inclined for the Dad role. Someone who comfortably fits in, while outside the usual roles is a good E. Kathy, oth, is certainly OTT, but I don't see her as fitting in anywhere. Crazy and socially clumsy isn't Eccentric, at least not a successful one. Beefcake, it'll be interesting to see where Cirie ends up. Hopefully, this season won't blow the family dynamics up, like China.
