Does the public voting just get ranked? Because I can't figure out how they use the public voting with the three judges votes.

I think Marie was right, people thought she was totally safe so they voted for other people they thought might be going. I never voted for her because I
thought everybody else would be. Shows that was a bad policy because unlike AI, they seem to actually do a real vote.

Then again, there IS Karina and Mario who seem to still be chummy. Are they actually together or just friends? They apparently live together. |

THE PROCEDURE FOR ELIMINATING COUPLES: Each week every couple receives points from the judges and votes from the public. For every couple we work out the share they got of the points given by the judges on the night, and the share they got of the public's votes on the night and we add these two shares together. The couple with the lowest combined total is eliminated from the show. For example if couple A, B and C receive 38, 26 and 14 points from the judges, we calculate what share these points represent of the total awarded by the judges on the night. In this case the judges gave 78 points in total, and each couples' share of 78 points breaks down as follows: 38= 48.72% of 78, 26= 33.33% of 78, 14= 17.95% of 78. Let's suppose that when the public votes are tallied, each couple has the following shares: A= 20%, B=40%, C=40%. To determine who's eliminated we combine these two shares for the total: Couple A: 20+48.72%= 68.72% Couple B: 40+33.33%= 73.33% Couple C: 40+17.95%= 57.95% In this case, the bottom two couples would be A and C, and C would be eliminated. In Week One of competition, the procedure above is slightly different as we have two performance shows on consecutive nights and the audience size could be significantly different on each night, putting those competing on the night with less viewers at a disadvantage. In this week, the six dancers on Night One will have their share of the judges scores given that night with their share of the phone, online and text-in votes gained that same night, creating a total share for each couple. The six couples dancing on Night Two will have their share of the judges points given on NIGHT TWO with the share of public votes (phone, online and text-in votes) given on NIGHT TWO, creating a total share for each couple. The couple that will be eliminated on Wednesday's show will be the couple who had the lowest total share across both nights of competition. |

Just an FYI for those who care.
Helio and Julianne will be dancing Samba and Tango this week. Just saw them on the news. They just finished dancing at the speedway (on the bricks, no less) and they're set to dance at the Pacers game. Yeah. I'm from Indy. |

Good Lord, what the hell was Mario thinking in that Halloween getup? He does realize that it's usually just the women who dress like sluts at the Playboy
Mansion parties, right?

I guess no one else saw the "exclusive" on TV Guide that Sabrina claims she and Mark ARE dating.

Good luck to Sabrina and Mark. I don't know if I buy a relationship, but he's gorgeous and seemed like an okay guy, and I grew to like her.
So who do you think will be the next to go? I think Mel might be in some trouble (or Jennie), although Jane is probably the one who is most likely to leave. |

I think the next to go will be someone who hasn't seen the Bottom 2 yet. And that could place Jennie or Helio in danger. I really do think Marie has
psychotic fans voting her.

I think Jennie has some trouble (her next dances are rumba and Viennese waltz, and I don't know how those will come across to viewers). Helio unfortunately
has the very popular Julianne for a partner and the judges love them. He just has to make his stupid faces and out come the great scores and big cheers.
The last time Mel had an okay-ish dance, she was in the bottom two, so I also wonder about her. My votes will probably be split between Mel and Jennie, unless one of them bombs out or goes on some kind of crazy rant. |

I don't think Mel is in any danger (knock on wood), she was in the bottom 2 last time because at the time she was middle-of-the-pack and had an average
dance. Now that she's clearly the frontrunner and is making a big following, she isn't going anywhere. I would fear for Jennie, though. Everyone else
sucks. =/

Does anyone happen to know of any sites that broadcast the show live? DWTS isn't on in Pittsburgh because of the Steelers game. I know when this happened
last summer with Big Brother, certain sites had live streams of the show. If anyone knows of anything I would really appreciate it! :)

My skin crawled when I saw Helio was #1. He stinks up the floor almost every week and the show's attempts to set up a showmance between him and Julianne
are truly embarrassing. If he wins then they need to give Julianne somebody like Abe Vigoda next season.

You Spice Girl fans are delusional
Helio and Julianne are gonna win the whole thing and it will be well deserved. They put on a better show than anybody. |
