K, so people here hate the idea of Amanda winning, because despite her playing a decent game, they just hate her invisible edit. But everyone wants Courtney to win even though she's an emotional wreck with not one ounce of strategy because she has entertaining confessionals?

I don't want Courtney to win. I don't think her confessionals lately have been entertaining, I think they've been forced and she has shown she has no idea what she is doing there. I do like Courtney, so if she somehow won, I wouldn't be upset. I don't know if anyone left has played a game where they deserve to win, but I would at least like to see the winner have some form of solid characterization.

I'm disappointed with Amanda winning because she has been underedited for seven episodes and even if she suddenly becomes more prominent, it's a little late. They have gone out of their way to show her as anything but her own character, so when she does have confessionals or moments, she seems oddly disconnected from everything around her, like she has no idea how she got there. I'm annoyed that so much of her confessionals consist of generic, useless quotes or complaining about Todd, which makes her look a bit two-faced (whether that was the editors' intent or not). I'm also somewhat annoyed because I know that if she does win, even if she turns out to be invisible most of the season, a lot of people will probably say she's great and one of the best winners ever, because they so very much want a woman to win and because she had all this hype before the season started. Any scene she has, no matter how minimal, will be a sign of how she is going to win and what a great player she is.

The whole thing is unsatisfying. I would love to root for a strong female presence. Instead, so far, she either is or has been edited to be a default winner, and not only will I have to see someone win after being put into such a small corner, I'll also have to hear people say that all along they knew she was going to win because she was such a brilliant player and she said in E1 that they should read Art of War and there was a shot of her in profile when Jeff Probst took off his hat.

They could have shown a lot more of her early on. I would rather see an obvious winner than invisible winners who are hidden behind flashy characters.

The quote from JR to Todd last episode, "If I get screwed over I'm going to hold you and not Amanda personally responsible because you have more power" foreshadows the conclusion.

That scene was so heavy-handed it's one of the few reasons I wonder why she may not win. If she does win, that's a slap in the face to her from the editors, to state blatantly that she is winning because of who she is not, instead of what she brings to the game. I think there has to be some twist (either she doesn't win, or she does win but JR does not vote for her).

3) The F3 challenge was determining the winner of the game instead of the Jury. Jenna beat Rob, took Matt. Lill won and decided the winner. Chris beat Scout and took Twila. Danni beat Rafe, took Steph.

Aside from Amazon, which may have had a different outcome, I think Sandra/Danni/Chris still would have won their seasons with an F3.

The F3 is here to stay, not least because it would have cheapened Yul/Earls' win. Also, would we rather have seen Ozzy and Cassandra win? Seriously? After averting those two winners with the F3, I can't blame production at all for the change.

It seemed like the show wanted Ozzy to win. That was one of the more amusing outcomes of the F3, because they probably kicked themselves when they realized Ozzy would have won in the regular F2 format.

J-R's threats to Todd were simply to show why Todd loses, it doesn't automatically mean Amanda is a default winner.

That they focus on why Todd loses, not on why Amanda wins, is part of the default edit. Tina, Earl, and Yul never had a scene that I remember where someone used their name as a jury threat against another player. Where they are painted as so completely irrelevant as a player that the first time the possibility of them winning is brought up is to make another player sweat it out. Many people assumed Jerri voted for Tina out of spite; the show could have easily crafted an edit where Colby lost because of jury spite. Instead, they showed Tina playing from at least E4, with the "let the games begin" comment. They could have shown her as Colby's sidekick, and instead she had an edit of her own.

You don't need to be shown making devious comments about strategy all the frickin' time to be deemed a worthy winner.

There's a big difference between "all the frickin' time" and having her entire game wrapped up in another player, to the point where her first confessional on the show was about that player. Seven episodes, and the brilliant moment people use to tell us why Amanda will win is that she got Sherea voted out, the person who was going to be voted out in the first place until they briefly reconsidered their plans. I would assume there is more to her game than that. Her game as of now is being a quieter, more stable Todd. It's a reactionary edit to him. Not an edit with her own voice or her own plans.

Tina had Colby. Earl had Yau-Man. Yul had Becky. Yet Tina, Earl, and Yul also had strong individual edits. They were not introduced as someone's sidekick. They didn't have scene after scene to reinforce that they were so closely tied to another player. Their confessionals were not, "Colby is too strident", or, "Yau-Man is going to outsmart himself," or, "Becky has no respect from the jury." Their confessionals were about themselves and their game.

Do think someone like Amanda goes on Survivor to play up to cameras and be devious...no She went on to win a million bucks.

Unless Amanda is editing the show, then my complaint is not with her. My complaint is with editing that has spent so much time telling us to care about why other people lose, and to ignore the person who wins.

Danni would have lost her season, as Rafe would have never taken her into a F3 voluntarily.

In the first season which had an F3, they didn't know they had an F3, did they? I guess I was assuming each of these scenarios would be where the players would not know of an F3.
