PT, nice argument for PG, except I don't agree with it.

Had Burnett wanted to protect PG's image we wouldn't have heard this part of Aaron's confessional: "This is Zhan Hu, this is my new tribe. Erik, Peih Gee and Jaime, they're really awesome people. They're really solid. I feel comfortable here." This alone is sufficient to indicate that PG isn't our winer. But there is more:

We wouldn't have been shown Aaron and Erik completely winded after their big effort.

We wouldn't have heard PG say: "I couldn't stop laughing".

We wouldn't have heard Erik say that PG was supposed to be good at puzzle. We wouldn't have heard Erik, the conscience of ZH, say: "I'm forced to stick with them but I don't trust them very much. I don't like losing, especially on purpose."

We wouldn't have seen PG repeating her strategy with subtitles during the episode #6 recap and talking about throwing another at the beginning of the episode with such disdain for James.

We wouldn't have heard the change of tactic from Jaime, PG had to have also given a confessional about it.

PG outlasts Jaime but, having been villified, she isn't our winner.

I think you have to recognize that this sequence amounts to a very complex edit for PG, but one that leans in the direction of understanding her perspective and motives. That's why she jumped out of the screen, for me. She's not spared all the negativity, though most is deflected. Neither is she made to be heroic for eliminating the leader of the other tribe (and a tribe that was dominating them). But a lot of attention is paid to understanding just what she did and why she did it, and to buttress the logic of it.

Supposing for a moment that she doesn't win, why not allow her to look worse than she did? Why not go with a simple edit for that sequence where she is one-dimensional and easy to pigeonhole? With James being the hero, and Aaron sympathetic, and PG's alliance-mate Jamie so negative, that would have to be the more tempting edit. Her character just seems way more developed and with a good bit more depth than needed, for this sequence of events.

Regardless of who wins, one thing I will say is that this is one of the most interesting mergers in Survivor. It's clear that PG is both sharp and determined and will scratch and claw to the best of her ability. Which sets up quite a nice contest with Todd, who has more resources than her, at this point, and with James, who has all kinds of chances to dominate physically.

I feel like it's "game on" at this point, even if the one I'm rooting for is at a large strategic disadvantage.
