Even though he held the power at the start (with 3 clues), he felt it necessary to tell 4 people about the Idol in order for his plan to work. Frosti also knows about the HI, to no benefit to Todd, but as a result of Todd's paranoia that Frosti would see it first. And, even after concocting this plan, revealing the HI to half the people left and sending his HI away to the other camp, his plan still didn't work. He had no control over it working. Courtney didn't do her part, Denise didn't do her part, James didn't do his part. And, if it weren't for Amanda, the numbers would have been even at the merge and who knows if Courtney would have bailed and voted with the only person who she felt was a friend, Sherea, which she may well have, as she voted with Sherea in this past episode. Todd was shown as confused and wavering. He's losing control and it was emphasized repeatedly in this episode. Amanda was insistent on keeping the numbers, focussed, unwavering. Her biggest task was keeping Todd on board with a Zhan Hu boot, which she did. Mission accomplished.

Too bad they didn't show more between them, because most of what was in the episode was based solely on Courtney preferring Sherea to JR. Frosti also knows about the HI, to no benefit to Todd, but as a result of Todd's paranoia that Frosti would see it first. That and Amanda deciding to look for the HII in front of everyone.

So everyone could see Amanda, but thought she was just knocking down a bunch of kindling.

If the Jury respects Toddanda, then Todd wins, because he's going to be seen as the Mastermind. If the Jury loathes Toddanda, Courtney wins. Not necessarily... For example with a choice between Todd/Amanda/Courtney, don't you think it's totally possible that JR might vote Amanda. I mean in the Jury, Amanda could quite easily point out (or Frosti could tell JR, someone could) that both Todd and Courtney wanted t o take JR out instead of Sherea, and Amanda was the only reason he was actually on the jury. That could easily sway JR's vote Amanda's way. Besides, let's say Amanda goes on an immunty run....She might win some votes from players like James and Frosti who respect the physical game. Amanda could then basically argue that she played an excellant strategic game, where she controlled who went/when and she also did well in the challenges.

Interesting the show instead played this scene as Amanda and Todd making a blunder. Amanda could then basically argue that she played an excellant strategic game, where she controlled who went/when and she also did well in the challenges. Trying to take credit for too much is a good way to not get votes. If she tries to brag about strategy or about her challenge brilliance, the jury will feel inferior. I wouldn't be surprised if she just acts very low-key and quiet and hopes people will vote for her because of their anger towards other players.

Have you noticed that word right next to Jeff(on his right) in every TC scene? You got it! The word is AN, the one with "a female under the roof ". ("All is well", Calm, Safe, Peaceful...) I don't usually get so detailed with Survivors. But these words just jump on me every time. I had to walk very far from the TV during the RC so I won't get distracted by all the Chinese words abound!

So far none of the interviewers I have seen have asked the obvious follow-up question, about how they explained the missing plaque. That does give James an excuse to take the gate apart (for firewood), but from the vidcaps he doesn't use it.

Posts: 23 (10/29/07 1:19 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	This is just based on my observations, but based on story arcs alone I could predict a final 4 situation with Todd, Amanda, Denise and Courtney with the scenario similar to the one in Africa. -Denise is your Big Tom, the loyal, hardworking, salt-of-the-earth type who will vote out whoever her alliance is voting out. -Todd is Lex, the strategist and mastermind whom everybody sees. He's overt about his strategizing and he could lose either on a fluke challenge or because he was so ostentatious about his scheming that the jurors find it obnoxious. -Courtney is MamaKim, the coattail rider who sucks at challenges and votes with her heart. If she makes it to the final tribal council, she'd be the perfect person to take with you. -Amanda here is Ethan, the other strategist who is playing it low-key and letting Todd do all the dirty work. I read someone's comment that Amanda could win this thing and I too can see that. It doesn't look like Amanda has any enemies and she complements Todd really well. I don't know, there's probably flaws in my theory, but I can see things playing out this way. At least it helped me to understand tribe dynamics better.

In Africa the three guys basically brought Kim along as their fourth but intended to get rid of her at 4th but couldn't (Now I can't remember, did she win immunity?) Courtney may be in a similar situation with the added attraction of being a good person to go up against in the final 3 because she will be perceived (and in this case rightly so) as a coattail rider.

Todd has the connections to wheel and deal, and the willingness to shift when plans go awry, but did he send his ship down the river by over-planning? James getting both IIs really puts a wrench in his plans. Amanda - Aligned with Aaron the leader, and then Todd. Probably in a good spot to win. Courtney - If Todd is Rob, then Courtney could be seen as Jenna. The editing makes us not like her at times, but people on her tribe like her. She's insecure and not into the game at times, and will vote based on petty dislikes. So instead of winning, like Jenna did, she goes as far as Todd carries her... which would seem to be Final 4 based on the amount of time spent on Todd. Peih-Gee - Quietly waiting for her chance to work with better numbers, PG has shown game. Throwing the challenge was her only negative moment, and it was softened by Jaime's outrageously poor attempt to mask the act. I'm rooting for PG as it would be quite a feat for her to muddle through to the finals. James - With both IIs, he's in a great position to protect himself. Will he be a challenge beast? Will he be able to navigate the social interactions to get where he needs to be.. the end? Frosti - I like Frosti, but I'd like to see more strategy. Something more than "I know they have an II". Jean-Robert - I don't see how the guy can win the votes at the end if he got there, based on the focus on his annoying traits like snoring. Surely there are others out there who snore or fart or belch. He's the one guy who's playing with a strategy other than Todd, so perhaps his take on Todd will affect a final vote? When will he uses Todd's connections against him to get ahead? It's time to make a move JR, or you could be gone next. Jaime - Not winning. Rob was continually on the outside of the alliances and wheeled and dealed until he found a spot where he was in an F2 position (with Matt). He was the fourth wheel in the original men's alliance, and the fourth wheel in the post-merge power structure. (The 4th wheel position surprised me, but Jenna mentioned that was due to Alex/Roger not getting along at all.) Todd's been in a position of power the entire time, and seems to have made a deal with everyone in the tribe. That's a setup for a lot of pissed off Jurors.

ChynS, I didn't notice that, I'll go and rewatch. The "calm" etc fits in with Todd throwing a wobbly when Frosti turned up and Amanda keeping her cool. Does the NA bit mean anything? I just found it funny that the woman was all business (Amanda telling Courtney not to let feelings into it) and the man was political (Todd trying to please everyone) in the last episode.

MamaKim was a PLAYER who knew she COULDN'T WIN and THREW the game for Ethan, as she obviously had NO JURY INFLUENCE. It all came down to HER decision whether Ethan or Lex should win. Her CHOICE. It's been way too foreshadowed that the KEY to WINNING is to take Courtney to the F3. With no responsibility as to HOW the other 2 GOT to the F3.

Posts: 9025 (11/01/07 11:59 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	A lot of people are positing on what will happen at the jury with the F3, but I don't believe we will see another three person final for several reasons: starting with 16 players again, and (can't remember where) but I saw that the final episode will start with four players, not five as has been the case in the past when there were 3 person finals. My money is back to the traditional 2 person final.
