It was good to see the death knell of Reality TV - at least I hope it was. Five years ago, a show like this would have been a big WOW! But tonight it was a little snore.

As far as the nail guns go, it seemed too obvious that the counting was irrelevant - just a distraction. Instead, it seemed that he could tell which gun was loaded - either from the sight, sound or feel of the guns. I don't know exactly how he did it. But I can make a guess. Regardless, it's pretty clear that no one is going to risk brain damage for $250K.

I doubt he had any kind of fix in with Carmen Electra. My guess would be that when the gun was loaded, he used some kind of magnet - maybe the clip was magnetized somehow. Then if he had a kind of compass or similar thing that he could disguise on his body, he could use that to tell which gun was loaded when he picked them up. I didn't check to see if he was wearing a ring, but I suppose he could have hidden some kind of device in his palm or something and then used that to tell which gun was loaded. Either the clip in the gun could be the magnet, or something he held could have been the magnet. Then when he picked up the gun, he needed to get some clear measurement that one of the guns had a stronger magnetic field. It seemed a shame that the stunt had to fit within ten minutes or so. It would have been much better to present that stunt using a full hour.

As far as the stunt using "Jeff Goldblum's" name, if you look at the performer's face, just before he says the name "Jeff Goldblum", you'll see that he looks intently at two spots in the audience fairly intensely. It seemed to me that he was reading some info from those two spots (I may be mistaken as to the number of spots). So maybe this one could be done with mirrors somehow. If he has an accomplice or two in the audience - in those spots he was looking, maybe they placed a mirror somewhere that could read the writing on the board and then the accomplice could read it and signal the performer somehow as to the name. It's a rather old trick for doing these kinds of things, but the old classics are still alive and well and working well today.
