I sure hope this was the last of the hour-long eoisodes. I was watching the clock wondering when his was gonna end.
Hating the Jim and Pam doing nice things for Dwight. This show is really starting to run off the rails.Funny how different people see this show in different ways. I few weeks ago I was bitching about how terrible it had gotten, but I really liked last night. I think it was the best episode since at least S2. It's kind of ironic that when I start liking the show again, other people think it's starting to suck. Guess you can please everyone all the time.
Speaking of not pleasing people, how unfunny has Jerry Seinfeld gotten? Those Bee Movie ads are supposed to be funny, right? Am I the only one that thinks they're really, really stupid?
I've liked all of this season's episodes so far, but for different reasons. I think this show strikes a great balance between moments centered in reality and funny, absurd moments. It's episodes like last night's that make things like Michael's driving into a lake acceptable, for example. People will start to say, "Michael would never be a boss, he's so unprofessional and ridiculous". But then in a later show they'll show him doing something that redeems him, like saying the right thing or making the big sale.
This show is more about the long haul than the short term, IMO. To get upset about one or two episodes is losing sight of the bigger picture. So, I love silly Michael, I love deep Michael. I like the different sides they show of each of the characters and it's exactly what makes it great.
And I totally agree about Seinfeld.
