I don't think it penalizes strong men. I think, like all good twists, it rewards people who can land on their feet. It's kinda like the challenge where
they had to drag the heavy thing, after solving the puzzle. You won't go through to the merge purely on strength, you've got to be at least a little
clever.
We don't know yet if it was intentional, but it looks like Sherea gets this. She's at the end stage of the challenge, so there's no way Fei Long can throw it and boot her butt. It will be interesting to see if Frosti is one of the divers (with Amanda and JR the other competitors, I'm guessing). James and Aaron didn't manage to pull this off. I'm guessing it was short-sightedness (plus it wouldn't surprise me if James can't swim). I'm going to be real curious if Todd (and Amanda?) seize the opportunity of the switch to get rid of their puppet leader, or if that was just a bonus for them. (With Aaron at the other camp, they can't hide behind him any longer. And almost certainly if he's booted in the next two rounds he won't come back to haunt them on the jury.) Fei Long would have to figure that Zhan Hu would take James, since he's far and away the strongest physically. They'd also have to expect to lose either Amanda (as the strongest female, since there have been so many gender-limited challenges) or Aaron (as the well-identified leader). Does Todd give all three of them the immunity idol clue as they leave camp? Only Aaron and James, in the moment after they are selected? Only James, with a little prod about the advantages of losing Aaron if Zhan Hu goes to tribal council? |

Crap! Just when I get accustomed to watching one dysfunctional self destroying tribe spiral down into oblivion......that damned SEG switches shit up and makes
the game interesting again! LOL! But I have one real fear......Sherea is gonna survive a few more TC's!

So it doesn't necessarily screw over the people switching, since they were (in theory) selected by their new tribes to help win challenges. Except in the case where the new tribes picked them solely to boot them (which appears to be all the cases). Luckily for them, SEG timed it such that there are only two more tribal ICs to throw. |

It sounds like they have no idea it's anything more than a quadruple kidnapping. ZH did a good job at chosing valuable members to take. It's
curious that FL didn't take Erik who in my view has clearly been better than Frosti in challenges. I can see Sherea because she has rocked in physical
challenges.

Dave has spoken highly of Frosti in his post-game interviews. We know Fei Long realized Dave was a nutcase, but still maybe that influenced their decision. I
wouldn't have said there was a huge difference in them in the challenges we've seen so far, but Frosti should be ahead on nimbleness, which often comes
up in challenges, so he could be a more balanced choice to strengthen Fei Long..

I'd buy he should be more nimble, but that really hasn't translated. In the first challenge James was able to cross the wall and bridges ahead of
Frosti. James actually flew right through that event. Frosti was little help in the wrestling type challenges including the boat challenge where nimbleness
should have factored. I expected much more from him epecially in those events. Erik was stellar in the boat wrestling challenge, pretty decent in the mud
wrestling challenge and overall. Granted ZH hasn't been that great overall in challenges, but I don't see where Frosti has excelled at all. His
flipping over the boat in camp has been his best showing of nimblenss at least on TV.
...It's entirely possible challenge ability doesn't figure into this at all of course. |

Thank goodness they are getting clothes- I watched one episode & couldn't handle all the blurs. Surely if I couldn't bear to watch it the editors
must have been tired of editing it. Zoinks.
I hate the seasons where they drop them off with nothing but the clothes on their backs- the first time it was original... now it's just tedious. But maybe that's just me. |
