I think you misunderstood my point ILGE. Let's use Josh Groban as the artist. He can emote until blood is pouring out of his eyes and I still wouldn't
feel anything aside from wanting to hand him a rag to clean that mess up. He may be talented in other people's eyes but I'm just not feeling it.
That's why I say the singer and the listener must both feel the song.

why are you so worry about Kelly....are you going to any of her shows......I know fans who are flying in from Australia and London and they are not wondering about her singing voice.......I'm a huge Chris D. fan and I could care less about Taylor tours or how he sounds.........and you don't see me on here day after day bashing Taylor......
I'm not sure what would make you assume it means no? When the tickets went on sale a lot of shows were selling out I just don't have a statistical breakdown of EVERY show because I honestly couldn't care less about any show except my own and sadly I didn't get tickets when they were on sale... If that was the case, how did such specific claims come about then? How did it go from 'some shows sold out quickly' to 'selling out quickly at
almost every stop and could've played bigger venues and sold 6-7k tix if she'd wanted to', huh? I made my assessment that the tour as a whole wasn't a quick sell out (and nothing wrong with that, i.e. not a quick sell out) because (a) if it was so,
it'd have been trumpeted by kelbots

ILovegreeneyes wrote: Clay sings that song wonderfully well however I think what is missing in both his and Carrie's version is soul and passion. I think that must be what I like better about Kelly's voice. It's full of such soul. It moves me with how expressive she is vocally. She can sing and bring goosebumps to my arms. Carrie and Clay are so vanilla and plain that it bores me after a while even though both are technically great singers. It's like they go through the motions. They don't sing with their hearts where I feel Kelly just allows the music to swell from within until it bursts out and it's amazing, even when she isn't vocally perfect.I would say Martina came out ahead in the first song linked and Carrie on Oh Holy Night. Plus, there's no way Kelly sings Oh Holy Night better than Clay - she can't hit the high notes anymore. I don't get why you posted the AI Christmas version thinking it was good. She was just going through the motions and added in a few runs between gasps of air.

I wish there was a YouTube of it, but has anyone heard Linda Eder sing "Oh Holy Night"? Amazing. Best version I've ever heard. Followed closely
by Celine and (no lie) Donna Summer.

I love Josh Groban...He's another one that moves me almost to tears with his insanely expressive voice. Clay has moved me before so it's not him per se as much as maybe the song itself? Carrie on the other hand, vocally is really good, but she leaves me cold when I listen to her. I hear her songs and I love them but I always think someone with better expression could do SO much more with them and they are being wasted on a singer who doesn't live and breath for the music. Oh well Carrie's fanny's favorite and many others' too so me not loving her makes no difference to her or her career, just as Kelly is my favorite, Clay is your favorite, etc etc... bernese, I went by reports pouring in from MTv and other news outlets as well as the fact that when I tried to bring up tickets none were available. I didn't call the box office of every venue to check the status so I can't 100% sign in blood that all the tour stops sold out....
fanny, your continued defensive "you make me laugh" schtick is so transparent. I proved my point, that Kelly outsings Carrie in a head to head comparison using the same songs. you then were stupid enough to insinuate the Kelly couldn't sing a HEART song, that's ROCK, a genre that Kelly seems quite comfortable in as evidenced by her continued foray into that genre...Carrie is country not rock or pop, as she'll tell you herself... her version of alone is good but IMO Gina's from last Idol was better, just like Gina's I'll Stand by you was better as well. More authentic if you will. Carrie needs to stop playing dress up in her big sister's hand me downs and just stick with what she's good at, country fare about life being what you make it and knowing the value of having a walmart in your home town

versions of the songs I pointed out because she's half the vocalist she used to be. There's no way she can hit those high notes now.Actually she
probably never could.. ..

Kelly trying to sing rock is laughable. Her rendition of DHLY with Reba showed how Kelly can't hang with Reba on that song. Carrie was a better match with
Jamie O' Niel. Standing O's don't lie.
As to rock, I still say Carrie's got more rock cred than Yelly!
Sebastian Bach, Vince Neil, Heart all compimented her or performed with her. Guns and Roses fans gave their thumbs up to Carrie's Sweet Child of Mine rendition. They said she performs the best cover yet and that's a lot coming from them fans. As to Yelly, she only hangs with the small time boys MetalSkool! I wouldn't count performing with famous guitar players from Rock bands adding to her cred. She should just stick to singing the blues because that is what she will be feeling the rest of her life knowing her career sunk with MD!
I'll also add that calling Gina's version of ALONE and ISBY better than Carries is also laughable.

Clay singing O' Holy Night and Emmanuel is heaven on earth. Oops . . . I mentioned Clay in Kelly's thread.

Kelly's voice is really going downhill fast, just like her career. What I predicted 5 years ago is now coming true. Kelly got "sick" a lot on
that first season of AI. She wasn't really sick, her voice was shot from all the screaming she did. I told a friend "she's ruining her
voice". Five years later, that's exactly what's happened. Even the Kellbots are noticing her disintegrating voice quality and are fighting amongst
themselves about it.

Meh. Carrie could be a better singer than Kelly if she learned to stop singing out of her nose and put a little emotion behind the lyrics she sings.
Kelly loses her voice a lot because she sings songs that are so much more vocally challenging. Even Carrie's glory notes in "Some Hearts" and "So Small" are absolutely nothing compared to Kelly's high notes in songs like "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Sober." |

I haven't seen Kelly's fans fighting amongst themselves. Everybody seems to think she sounded great at the Verona concert.

Meh. Carrie could be a better singer than Kelly if she learned to stop singing out of her nose and put a little emotion behind the lyrics she sings. So I'm not the only one who thinks she sings through her nose. Also, even though she sings with a lot of glory notes, her voice to me is very thin. Not like Kelly, who has a full, rich, velvetly tone.

I watched that Carrie version of "Sweet Child of Mind" and the same thing happen that always happen when I watch a performance of her's, my mind
drifted to other things. She just can't keep my attention. It's just a pretty girl with a pretty voice, thats it.
At least Kelly's drunk version with Metal Skool kept me interested to the end. Also, Kelly doesn't have to do covers of 80's hair bands to rock out, she rocks out her own songs. |

So I guess it's gonna be REAL exciting watching a Yelly performance when she's all stoned by ingesting weed then huh? Screw her singing , just a drunk stoned Yelly vid is interesting. Kelly rocks out her own songs, yes, a legend in her OWN mind!

You dumbshit! It still hasn't been proven she can sing nowadays. Again I state, the Yelly you hear today is not the Yelly of yesteryear! SHE CAN'T SING WELL ANYMORE AND WON"T FOR A WHILE!Blah blah blah yellycakes; Blah blah blah soundslikeshitcakes. I think Borrie-Okie is more like the Phillies or the Yankees -- really hot during the regular season, but fizzles when it counts. And of course, Old Dread Lord is the General von Shteingrabber of the music industry. |

Nah, ODL is just cutting the "fat" (aka Yelly) from his payroll. He knows when it's time to drop a loser. Just ask Borules!
