A total hysterectomy at 28 forced me into an early menopause. It DID NOT diminish my sex drive. Maybe being younger made a little difference, I mean, no more
pregnancy scares, no more menses, but the physical changes were the same. If anything, I got way hornier. (yep, I said it)

Nope, I'm a post menopausal woman who could care less if she ever comes again. And ALL of my closest friends admit they feel the same way, too. We just
aren't allowed to say it out loud in our culture. What we CAN do better is fake like we're enjoying it, for the pleasure of our elderly husbands, and
to guarantee they don't go chasing after some other old broad who pretends to like it so she can get his pension.

<<< never once faked it in her life, doesn't plan to ever either
well, i guess i'm glad you have friends you can be open with about sex? sadly, lots of women don't have that. on the other hand, i want to reiterate, it would bother me. a lot. not even by yourself? if your husband ain't doing it for you, can't you just do it for your self? heh, now i'm singing 'sistahs are doing IT for them selves' and i don't even know any other words to the song right now eta: cuz i forgot the IT! |

A hysterectomy would not affect your sex drive. Your sex drive is not dependent on your uterus. The removal of your ovaries, which is called an oophorectomy,
would have that effect to varying degrees.

I'm "old" and I still like sex, enjoy sex, and NEVER EVER fake it. Don't have to.

I was visiting my mom and dad last night, and somehow she started talking about their earlier sex life, and phrases like "oh yeah, I daren't bend over to pick something up" were bandied around. Then she said he had a "man's" problem when he was 70 and after getting checked out by the doctor he was told he was okay and to go home and have fun...so he did...or he tried, but my mom said it wouldn't stay....and then she did that thing with her finger where it was straight up then kind of curled it down. What the hell kind of thanksgiving talk is that!!?? (my dad wasn't in the room) I don't want to know. She's 87 and he's 95 and I can't even .....::blank stare::...... |

I just saw an article on the elderly and it said they can't control their speech impulses, which is why they say things that they wouldn't have dreamed
of saying when they were younger - like racist stuff

Too many women with bad sexual partners use the ole menopause thing to stop having bad sex.
Age does not fix being with a bad partner!Buy him some Viagra! That is so sad for you and your friends. I bet you and your friends only had sex to get a man, Never knowing it for the joy it can be. Sex is better after menopause. No worries of getting pregnant, No period, no cramps, and Freedom of little kids in the house if you are over 40! |

Suspiciously Anonymous wrote: SA...you said it right the first time...."total hysterectomy" include the ovaries. Having the ovaries removed makes you a candidate for early
menopause. Without the ovaries you have lower estrogen levels which can cause all of your symptoms you described and more. Proper hormone therapy can be
achieved....but can be a bumpy road getting there.

The cervix is more sensative than vaginal tissue that is sewn together to make a "blind pouch". That was his way of explaining it....plus, I had also
read the same thing when researching all the options.
And stallions....will be stallions ![]()
