Chyn, I think I figured out the source of the miscommunication.
So as not to overwhelm this thread, I am posting only the thumbnails of these pictures, but the full-sized caps can be viewed here.

It should be pointed out that each camp has two gates.
For purposes of clarity, I am defining the front side of the gate as the one on which the tribal banners are hung.

Tribe Pictures

In each of the tribe pictures, see here, a Chinese character is visible on the crossbeam of a gate.
These two characters are the ones that I posted originally and appear to be the same. Let's call it character A until we have a proper translation.
Both pictures were taken at the upper gate of their respective camps.
Fei Long's Character A appears on the back side of the upper gate.
Zhan Hu's Character A appears on the front side of the gate.

Episode 2 - Fei Long

In Episode 2, at Fei Long after Leslie has looked at the clue, we are shown a different Chinese character. Let's call it Character B.
Fei Long's Character B appears on the front side of the upper gate.




Episode 3 - Zhan Hu

In Episode 3 at Zhan Hu, it appears we are shown three (3) different Chinese characters.
Zhan Hu's Character A is shown very briefly and out of focus, but it confirms the location as being the front side of the upper gate.

We are also shown two other characters.
One is shown at an odd angle and quite blurry. It looks like it could be Character B, but it's not definitive. Not being a Chinese reader, and just to avoid possible confusion, I labeled this one Character C.
The second one is definitely a new one character. Let's call this one character D.
It is not possible from the footage on which gate, or on which side of said gate, these two characters are located.

Finally, there is also another shot of the back of a gate. It would appear to be the back of the front gate, given the stacking of the bricks on the side of poles, but in the background, we have what could be the tribal flag is visible. That would make this the back gate. So, at this point, inconclusive.
The salient point is that this shot, blurry as it is, does not appear to show any character inside the medallion on the crossbeam. Of course, this could just be a light trick.

VolcanicGlass, I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to post until now. Thank you so much for having all the "Possibilities" right at our finger tips!

But your Character D is not double happiness Xi`' -- although Xi`' was shown in the TC on Jeff's right for a while, weird place for the word, won't you say?
Character D is the one I caught last night in my post up thread. It's Fung which means wind literally, but "a change of the wind" could mean change of LUCK or even Style(in fashions for instance).

I think we are all on to the place of the Hii. I'm just not very certain if they were the same character! I know we will all be watching more carefully for them in the next episode! If I have time I'll go through 2nd & 3rd epi also. Thanks for this great discussion!
