I just watched the second eppy(it's been on the net for a few months) and it's great.
I don't understand all the distaste for Dexter having issues with killing. It gets dull seeing him kill people every episode. It's interesting to see his character grow and develop a different relationship with his victims and his social aquaintances. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the killing, but I also enjoy seeing him having to deal with these issues. It's fun to see a "cool" and "calm" character get shaken up. Michael C. Hall was robbed at the Emmy's. |

Rita, Retardita, is a lot more annoying than Deb. She can now get killed after Paul to end that sorry relationship and cut all ties to Dexter forever. Those
kids have always bugged me too.
He can go on looking for more damaged people to identify with. Domestic life doesn't suit him. Loved his non reaction to Paul's demise. Anyway, Dexter being off his game is just an extension of what his brother started when he got unhinged with those childhood memories. It's only been thirty some odd days as he counted off so it's not like he's going to snap back so quickly. The extended preview made me excited for what's to come, but it was a bit too much info. Too many future scene snippets. |

I'm sick of Rita, too. She bitches about Paul non-stop, and then when somebody actually does something about it, she bitches. Fuck off, Rita.
I felt so bad for Dexter. How odd is it that you feel for the guy when he can't kill? And yes, he needed waaaay more tape for the beef bus.

Can someoen tell me is Dexter a hemophobe(has a fear of blood)? I need to do a report on phobia, and dexter is a good example I think to use on how one can be
caused from childhood trauma etc. It's been awhile since I seen it though.

I don't think Dexter is a hemophobe, mainly because his job is blood spatter expert for the Miami Dade Police Department. He went to school and got a
career based in blood.

I'm SO glad i've had my Dex avi since the first ep of seaason 1. Best show ever. It's like a weekly version of American Psycho...esp since he
refers to Pat and Sean Bateman on the show ...dream come true for me.

The sheer amount of bags of body parts is amazing. I had no idea Dexter was so prolific in his pursuits.

Every one of them had it coming to them. This show blurs the moral center, but don't be fooled, what Dexter does is wrong and he knows it's wrong. He may think it's justified as they're evil people and in some cosmic sense that logic sort of works. But to be frank, Dexter is ill...and it's because of whatever defect is in his mind that allows him to believe that he has the ability...or the right, to pick and choose who lives and who dies. eta: I don't think Dexter is a sociopath and I believe Harry did instill in him the ability to know what he does is wrong. But, he does it anyway. |

Of course, murder is wrong. So is molestation, murdering children, torturing hospice patients, housing immigrants in metal sheds until they die, or their
destitute family can come up with the price to release them. I'm sure there's more, but you get the idea.
Murder is wrong, but the degrees of wrong shift from time to time. I'd rather have Dexter in the world than the folks he's removed. |

what Dexter does is wrong(another point of view) nope. sorry bud. its not... Doakes got shot down...no task force for him.i know a lot of people don't like doakes. and yeah, the way they do his part is too over-the top. but come on, name me another actor that could play the "i've got my eyes on you" better than doakes. he is scary, and big, and scary. and he's got his eyes on you. i loves me some doakes...go doakes!

(another point of view)If you think it's OK for individuals to murder people to enact the justice system, then you're either deranged or a Republican. Either way you're a menace to society. |

perhaps you are correct (i don't think so.) but ponder this. and tell me how i am wrong...
"Jeffery Dahmer murdered at least 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. His murders were particularly gruesome, involving acts of forced sodomy, necrophilia, dismemberment, strangulation, stabbing and cannibalism." "Matthew Wayne Shepard was an American student at the University of Wyoming who was fatally attacked near Laramie, because of his homosexuality. They robbed him, beat him severely (media reports often contained the graphic account of the pistol whipping and his smashed skull), and tied him to a fence with a rope from McKinney's truck." "Three white men were indicted Monday on capital murder charges in the death of a black man who was chained to a pickup truck and dragged to his death on a rural East Texas road in early June. The men drove Byrd to a wooded area, beat him, chained him behind Berry's truck and sped down a bumpy road just east of town. Byrd's severed head, neck and right arm were discovered about a mile from where his shredded torso was dumped. A trail of blood, body parts and personal effects stretched for two miles, police said." "What was done in Manila were the same things that Japanese had done in Nanking: "the mass killing, the bayoneting, the beheading, the rape, the slicing open of women after being raped, the impaling of babies on bayonets, the gouging out of unborn fetuses from pregnant mothers." sorry, bud. if you exterminate such vile creatues, its called "taking out the trash." and its all good to me. i have no problem with that...

It isn't the individual's place to take the life of anyone. It assumes you're all knowing and able to make judgments on the lives of other human
beings which...um, I'm sorry, you aren't. I agree that those people should be killed, but by societal laws and the justice system. The people Dexter
kill are horrible people who do escape the justice system. There are flaws in it. That's why we should work toward fixing it, not KILLING people.
So, waving these things in my face doesn't change my opinion on it. These people were taken care of by societal laws (except for the last example you cited). My point is that even though Dexter "does his work" before hand, he isn't God who has omniscience...so he's still making a huge assumption and taking life into his own hands, which I feel is wrong. So, how are you wrong by citing those examples? Because you're not criticizing my argument. My argument isn't that people shouldn't be put to death, it's that individuals (Dexter, for instance) have no right to take the law into their own hand and enact justice. If it were "right" you'd have vigilantism everywhere. |

shut the fuck up.
it is absolutely the individuals place to stand up for the life of another, whenever they can. you fucking idiot. if i witness this "rape of nanking" you expect me to do nothing about it? i should refrain and let the courts decide "justice"? after the fact? after they are all raped and dead? what kind of fucking kumbaya moron are you? i weep for our future with the likes of reggierules in charge... ok. i've read reggierules post again. and there is some truth there. but just because we're holding hands doesn't mean we'll be taking warm showers together until the wee hours of the morning. i apologies for my "shut the fuck up." nothing more.

I hope Dexter's swagger isn't short-lived. Need him to be on top of his game, but I hope he gets rid of that twit Rita (who doesn't seem like
she's going to be a good cover for him this season). Bitch might just be more annoying than Deb this round.
