Too many allusions to the backstory, and hamhandedly planted. I loved seeing Starbuck all purtied up, though. Alias grabbed me by the throat right from ep 1 and didn't let go until SD-6 fell. I guess not all series can do that, true. I bet if I'd tuned into the very first Buffy ep rather than the season 1 finale, I would've been kinda meh, and that turned out the best series pretty much in TV history.

The style was too dark. Not sure where they are trying to go with this. Surprised this got some many kind words from critics I respect. Reassesing those now.

I thought it would have been cute for Jamie to wake up smiling at the boyfriend scientist guy and go, "Hello...who are you?" It woulda been a nice homage.

There was no point in making her upset about having artificial parts if she was going to get over it so fast. The invaluable scientist asset who also moonlights at a local college. Keep her confined in case we have to kill her, OH she escaped, maybe that will be better. The child feminist who thought it was cool to see a woman able to run that fast. DUMB. It was like they tried to fit in the first 3 episodes into the pilot. I think it was a big mistake to remake the Jamie character when they have absolutely nothing in common. All of the attempts to revive the franchise have made the same mistake in that they made the bionic people too strong. The original 2 were strong but you never really felt they were superhero strong just enhanced. I am not sure how strong they intend to make the new Jamie but the fact they have already introduced a bionic super villian in episode 1 does not look good. And not because it's a remake, but because it was formulaic. To anyone who's seen La Femme Nikita, Alias, Buffy, Dark Angel, that is. Also they lacked the innocence of the original. Totally different tone. They had a chance to do something really different, and so far it's nothing we haven't seen in the past few years on every other network. Even the special effects suck. Finally, major HATE for Jamie's character, as well as the actress who plays her. Zero personality for the character. Zero charisma from the actress. Yep, very disappointed. I'll watch a couple more times because I always give new shows/pilots a few episodes to find their stride, but I gotta say I don't have much hope for this one.

I was 17 when it ran the first time and thought Lindsay Wagner was HOTHOTHOT in a "reachable" kind of way. This was confusing, jumpy, and hard to follow. It seemed they were trying to get the viewers hooked with a bunch of questions that would be answered in later episodes. The nice thing about the original BW was that once you knew the backstory you could miss a week if you had to and not be totally lost. This looks like it's going to take a committment to keep up with it. Yeah, I'll commit to a couple or three more weeks but it better ramp up the interest factor tootsweet or I'm outtathere! And Miguel Ferrar is a great actor, but he's no Oscar Goldman!

LW epitomized the new strong, independent woman of the 1970s. She was beautiful and charismatic and very appealing. And, she was a fine actress, which nobody really expected on a 'super-hero' show. Lindsay actually won a Best Actress Emmy for "The Bionic Woman." Unfortunately, Michelle Ryan has very little charisma. If this new BW survives, it will have to be because of strong writing, not because of an appealing lead actress. And where are the FemBots??

It's a show about a bionic woman. I don't think they were expecting The Wire or The West Wing in terms of writing or dialogue. As long as they were reasonably entertained by the first episode, I imagine most of them will be back this week.

The lead actress doesn't capture the spirit of the first bionic woman, and the tone of the show overall is very different from the original. Thus viewers who tuned in expecting anything like their beloved original version were probably disappointed.
