Unless Survivor drops below 10 million, I'm not worried and no one else should be either

howard stern is the biggest survivor fan, and he FELL ASLEEP during this season.

For the week of 9/17-9/23
These are from zap2it As long as that keeps happening, Survivor has NOTHING to worry about. Also, Howard Stern fell asleep during Survivor because he is an old, denture wearing douche, not because of the show. |

Yes, if Survivor stays at 15 million viewers a week, there is nothing to worry about. But it's viewership has been trending down. The question is where
will that downward trend flatten out? Quit trying to unharsh my voice of doom, y'all.

Went from 15.3 mil last week to 14.2 this week.... and won its time-slot, not too bad

That's good. I was worried about Ugly Betty... now not so much.
Hopefully Ugly Betty's ratings will decrease since next episode is not the season premiere and survivor's will continue to grow. |

Yup
survivor did extremely good this week.. Ugly Betty's premier was only about 11 million.. thats pretty bad considering the fact that more people talk about it in magazines and on tv shows and also, the show's main character just won an emmy.. Survivor was over 14 million.. and won in both total viewership and also adult viewership.. This is really good considering the fact that there were three season premiers during its showing on other networks |

I was afraid ratings would trend lower since there was no "omg look at all the minorities!" twist going on with this season, and considering the 1-2
million dip per season that seems to be happening. I think viewers will uptick as we go forward, as long as the season stays decent.
As for Ugly Betty, I would love it if the show crapped out & got canceled in its second season like its teen wunderkind cousin Joan of Arcadia. |

The 14-15 million people that still watch Survivor now will probably stay with the franchise until it finally ends. In its 15th season I doubt it has garnered
a lot of new viewers but its clear it hasn't really lost any either.

90% of television show would KILL for the numbers Survivor still draws. It's amazing how long it's remained top 20.

I think Survivor is safe for a few years too. It's just that if it continues to lose between 15 to 25 per cent of it's audience every season like it
has over the last few years, the prognosis ain't good. I wonder what CBS's trip number is that would make it scrap the show.

Survivor is a cash cow for CBS. They wont be ending it anytime soon!!

If Survivor is a cash cow then I expect hamburgers from CBS when it dies.

And every other network prime time TV show will lose 15 to 25 percent of its audience and Survivor will remain #1 in its timeslot, and in the top 15 rated shows of the season, as always. Then no network TV show's prognosis is that good.

No, not every show is losing 15 to 25 percent of its audience each season. If that were true, network television would cease to exist in a few years.

My guess is when the ratings for Survivor go down the first thing they will do is move it to another night or as a summer replacement show.
