Overall, the cast seems to have a little more cultural exposure than some we've seen in the past. I'm not really imagining any of them making a "no tickee no laundry" sort of "attempt".

"Attempts to speak Chinese" - Jean Robert does speak Chinese. Amanda could well have learned a few pleasantries as part of her pageant work. (Oooh,
kites! Did we forget the kites! When is the fighting kite challenge?) Peih-Gee's family is from Hong Kong, she probably spoke Chinese at home when she was
little, but I think that would be the wrong dialect.

Croc, I can't tell who's doing what since a lot of times the camera's not on the tribe mates encouraging each other by saying their prospective
tribe name in Chinese. (Both in the Fei-Long Day one and newly released Zhan-Hu Day one.) Does that count?
Hey! I imaging every one of them would be clapping and sending "Gogogo! Fei-Long!" or "Gogogogogo! ZhanHU, you can do it" at some point in the first epi. ETA, in the temple when the Buddha pendants were presented or what not, didn't the head monk had some exchange with each of them? I bet everyone of them could attempt a "xìexie"(謝謝=Thank You!) right there and then???

I wonder if the Fantasy webmaster counts the tribes names as "attempting Chinese". They are sometimes shall we say ......arbitrary
One other potential goldmine is stumbles, find a frequent faller and you've got a lot of points, 10 points every time they fall during the challenge. Thanks Chyn! |

read the rules - no more minnowgate - only one score per event 10 stumbles = 1 stumble

(I guess it's possible a few folks have Buddhist experience in a non-Chinese-speaking context - would Frosti instinctively make some Japanese response, for example?) |

Argh, that sucks. I got 33rd overall but my points don't count towards the team because I didn't join until after the episode. Wah. Wish I could
have helped -- we might have gotten first!

Hey all. Regarding FantasySurvivor, I've made a ton of points the last couple of weeks -- in the top three on our team -- by picking people for
testimonials. You get 9 points per testimonial, so if someone has 5 you get 45 points! Pick the people who the riddles seem to indicate the drama centers
around, and you get a ton of points. Just FYI.

FYI, the points for testimonials just dropped to seven(7)!
Hummm, what happened to everyone's avatar? Poof!?!

that is great advice on the Private Interview. You would never really know that unless you picked that option. Thanks for filling in the team.

I just figured out that this thread has fantasy info. Duh. At least I figured out about the testimonials last week. I was in 4th place on our team the first
place but my dismal performance the last few weeks dropped me into 11th. (And I notice we're now in 6th overall as a team). This information will help,
especially when I don't have a clue what to say for some of the more "out there" fantasy questions. This season feels like much more of a
crapshoot, or is it me?

No, they have really made an effort to drastically cut points for information that is spoiled. If you get big points, you are going to have to have guessed
correctly.
And on the Private Interviews, I had to go read their rules today. Erik had much more than 2 PI's in my estimation. He talked. New PI for Jaime. She talked. He talked again. This went back and forth. Fantasy Survivor is just counting that as 1 PI because the "topic of conversation" had not changed, even though in between his PI's there was a different point of view narrating the game. That is not the way I would score it (and I do score a game at another site) but it is plainly stated in their rules. But if you know somebody is going to get a lot of face time, it would still be a smarter move than say picking something that is only worth 12 points or so... |
