He broke off an engagement because he thought the grass was greener in Daniele's yard. He probably could sense she was "damaged goods" and wanted to enter a codependent relationship with her. Relationships begun this way rarely work out. I wouldn't want to date a guy that had this in his history. You do bring up a good point. I guess it's the same as Daniele breaking off her relationship because she thinks the grass is greener in Nick's yard. I doubt that one will last long either. She is only 21 years old, so she has a lot of "living and learning" to do yet anyway. I do feel a little sorry for that Kris guy because he seemed to be hurt by her actions, and he's taking a lot of abuse on the forums for being a "lazy mooch" for doing an internship and not making much money. Obviously he's not the right person for her but it would really suck to be humiliated and cheated on for all of America to see.

I'm not judging her. I think it just serves to highlight how very young she still is and that figuring this stuff out is always difficult and it takes a long time to grow up. I cringed the night she was crying to Dick about being confused by her feelings for Nick and how she wanted to spend her life with Kris, because for most people, 21 is just too young to be thinking that way (not everyone - if you got married at 21 and your marriage is still going strong, good for you.) I don't think Daniele handled the situation in the best way, but I've never crucified her for it. She was stuck in the house. She's young. Shit happens, we all make mistakes, etc.

It had to suck watching your SO fall for another person on television and know that millions of strangers were watching and some even rooting it on. I would be very hurt by that.
