Good to hear it's repeated on Thursday. I was bummed to see I missed it. As long as they never cast another Richard I'm happy with the cast, maybe. So what did happen tonight?
Sorry to report they cast another Richard.

Whereas Richard was a faux geek, ie. a wannabee actor playinig up the clown role, this one is an astrophysicist with real problems relating to people. I gues
you mean he is another Richard in that he is a big-nosed Jew.

I like the Asian geek - what's his name Tony? He's adorable. He's got to be the hottest and most likeable geek there. Judging by the previews I'm not exactly sure if Geek girl and beauty guy are going to stick around for very long. She was shown as saying "I think they're targeting us" and that was about the only time I saw the pair of them. Unless of course, the previews are misleading. It's one thing for a pretty girl to be stupid, but it's another for a good looking guy to be stupid. For instance, if he wants to be taken seriously in a very important job, the employer is going to mock him out of the interview. Plus, he's not that good looking to begin with. In fact, he turns me off.

Ha Ha! Believe it or not, I watched this show and taped the Big Brother Finale.
I was glad I did too. The BB finale really sucked and this show looks like it will be fun. I like that geeky girl. It will be interesting to see her after her makeover. She has a decent body. Was Hollie the smart girl? The one who got "reading between the lines" and "tri-cycle"? |

Okay I watched a little but will totally watch on Thursday. But are they only picking dumb pretty girls? It seemed like they picked the really dumb girls and
really geeky guys.

Joshua is "another Richard" in that he is obnoxious and supremely ugly and already takes up too much screen time from the truly adorable Tony (the
Asian guy who taught the girls to tie a bowtie), Luke (whose five-year goal is just to be married), Josh (the president of a club devoted to shooting rubber
bands; he shot something off the head of one of the girls), John (the juggler), and Jesse (I think he was the "Dungeons and Dragons" guy). The other
3 guys--David, Will, and William--are all a bit ugly but each has a bit of sweetness in him (and I detected no sweetness in Joshua).
And Joshua is in a master's program for astrophysics; he is not yet an astrophysicist. He also has surprisingly poor grammar re relative pronouns: ("In Five Years: 'To have chosen a career path that I both enjoy and which will be productive.'") (The "which" should be a second "that".) Re the girls, did anyone else notice the amount of cellulite/saggy backs-of-thighs in this bunch? You can see it in the opening montage (where the girls are lying on their stomachs and shot just from the waist down) and in many, many shots during the show proper. How old are these girls? |

Bah - they've still failed to cast any prickly asshole geeks - they're such a huge part of the geek community but the show keeps picking boring
cuddly ones Luke looks like BB3 Josh's brother, which makes it especially confusing with a similar looking guy called Josh being in the cast.
I don't think he was a faux geek - he was just a different type of geek. Not all geeks are into science and RPGs, though based on the fairly limited casting of the past couple of seasons you'd think so. He definitely had worse social skills than someone like Wes, who just had a geeky job (or Nate, who was the only other "arts geek" they've cast). supremely ugly Who watches this show for male eye candy? There's barely any female eye-candy - though Amanda's definitely a cut above the rest. |

I want to know who the pairs are. The CW website doesn't show the pairs....anyone know where I can find them? I can't watch the encore on Thursday.

Okay, geeky girl and "beauty" boy are brothers and sisters. Their jawline is exactly the same... almost mirror image so they both fit when they lock
their incestious lips.

The pairs are:
Shay and Joshua Amanda and Tony Jasmine and Dave Erin and Jesse Natalie and John Jen and William Rebecca and Will Hollie and Josh Katie and Luke and the stupid guy and the smart girl - didn't catch their names |

Did anyone else think it was weird how all the geeks had to do parlour tricks in their introductions? I know that happened occasionally in the past
(Chris' greeting cards and Rubik's Cube boy) but every contestant had a gimmick this year (even Joshua with his mom calling).
The girls didn't seem to have to have a gimmick, which is why I have no way to distinguish between Erin, Katie, Natalie and Rebecca. |

The girls, but for Jen (yuck) and Katie (who appears to be the nicest one), are hot. Good babage this season. Esp. Jasmine, aka Mini-Bingham. Pre-boobjob
Amanda was probably exceptionally hot too. Funny seeing Katie eyeing Amanda's funbags, I guess thinking what if she'd gone that big (probably thankful
she didn't).

Ewwwww - Jasmine is so fugly! She looks okay from a distance but the closeups are hideous.

I love Hollie the most so far...but I don't really like Josh...I like Luke too...and Tony!!! So my faves are Holly, Luke and Tony! I hate the dumb dude but
the geeky girl seems cute so far!
It looks like Katie lasts a while, I saw her in a lot of the upcoming previews. Didn't see much of Holly or Josh though at all. Also, Jasmine seems to go early...she is actually one of the dumber beauties so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't last long at all. |

I knew I recognized that "beauty" guy from somewhere- anybody remember the movie Little Giants? He played the 'bad guy' Spike... same jaw
and huge boggle eyes. haha

What struck me about the opener is how quickly they've incorporated the Miss Congeniality rule into the strategy of the game - Joshua and Shay already preparing for the F2 on who's grown the most.
I loved the interview process - a flag with 52 stripes and 8 stars? Mozart wrote LvB's 5th? Left is straight up? Too bad the smurf guy didn't make it - I bet we see him next season. Outstanding that the giggle girl didn't make the cut, though, but that would've been awesome television.
I don't think Joshua's another Richard - whereas Richard seemed to delight in being Richard, Joshua's got this existential Woody Allen thing going. Plus I was laughing my ass off when he called his mom to introduce him. Smart play so far in the team selection as far as I can tell - keeping Dave with Jasmine (betcha they're the first boot) and Hollie away from Luke will help them, but I bet the John/Natalee pairing will come back to haunt them.
As expected, Hollie is truly adorable and fun.
Agreeance. She's got the EXACT right spirit to go deep. Appears to have done well on the IQ test, too - yes, she's the one that got reading between the lines and tricycle. Her partner Josh, he of the William Tell rubberband shot, seems like he'll be in the running, too.
There's barely any female eye-candy
Disagreeance. I think this is the best looking chick cast yet. Natalee makes my heart go all pitter patter, but Hollie's appealing, Rebecca's got a classic look, even Jen with those monster arms has a good look. To each his own, but I think they're all pretty strong.
The tricks - actually, the chicks also did them. Rebecca's massage for instance. One chick walked in holding what appeared to be three bottles of massage oil, perhaps homemade adult lubricants, but why she had them was edited out.
The reverse beauty/geek are Sam and Nicole - speaking of whom, did anyone notice the clip in the previews of her putting her leg behind her neck? I personally value bendiness. But yeah, they're doomed.
Strong opener for this series. A bit of the bile about the season 3 finale has now been vented.

Looks like you can watch the show on the web. I'm
not anticipating the V0.2 Richard but I do want to see what they managed to drum up for this season at least.
