I never said he's the master of the basics. I think I said he's pretty solid in the basics, compare to the others. As for his hit & miss performances through out the season, it's pretty much been the theme for all of them...even Tre.

Maybe it was just me and I've never picked up on her shitty attitude before, but I cringed at her higher than thou attitude a couple of times. She seems to be letting this whole Top Chef thing going to her head a bit, and I've liked her in the past. Her judging the breakfast alone I kinda didn't like, at all.

At least they were edited that way. They actually seemed to judge the chefs on what they actually thought about how the food tasted, for a change.

It is highly improbable that anything is changing in response to blogs on a weekly basis, simply because of the time it takes to edit episodes. I'd be shocked if the entire rest of the season isn't already in the can. A 5-6 week lag between fan response and edit changes would be more reasonable.

Any monkey can toss together a long list of items. A true chef can make even the simplest of recipes taste fantastic because they know how to cook the food and proportion it properly to bring out the true nature of the products. There was a mac & cheese challenge on Food Network recently. For the signature mac competition, most of the contestants were using huge lists of ingredients. One guy used only 3 things: pasta, a simple cheese sauce, and poached lobster. He concentrated on those 3 things and made each the best it could be. The result was a great tasting dish that earned him the grand prize.

It's different and interesting. Hung has more than once made recipes any idiot could google and find in seconds. No creativity or originality or flair at all.

I agree it's been a long season, but at least the light is at the end of the tunnel. I caught the preview on Bravo today, it has the potential to be interesting......they go to C.I.A. and looks like the QF takes place there, possibly the EC too.

Tim Ryan was a judge on Iron Chef once, I think; I'd have him there every other week or so (rather than Cady Huffman, Julie Chen, or Bonecrusher, who was there this week).
