Sorry if someone else already came up with this, but today it occured to me: You think there was a purposeful correlation between the hobos having a code and
the codes that the homos had to use back then to feel each other out in public?

Some economic info to substantiate the fact that not everyone benefits in life.. there are the have and the have nots.. and we all know that being a Master of
the Universe it helps being a white man.. but as the world grows not everyone's lot in life is good... and while I am not speaking solely of myself
(although as a woman I always am) but as an activist and feminist I have always been concerned about others.. and this was in today's NY Times.. as when I
state my opinion I like to use yes my experiences, those of others and information that is gleaned from source facts.... and I respect someone who responds to
that argument in the same way...

If every kid in America went to college, we'd have an awful lot of construction workers with degrees.

Well sadly only about 25% of Americans do go to college and a large majority of the working poor/minorities (as it levels off with income) drop out because
they do not have the financial resources/access or support systems in place to complete school. And what is wrong with having a higher education to advance
yourself in your trade? Construction workers can go into Management and make a substantial salary combing both white/blue collar but to get into those
"management" positions companies want educated workforce. So they hire a guy who never came up through the ranks and went to management school
instead.. so unfair and frustrating.
I think if we are to compete and offer something to the world be it trade or whatever we should have the right and ability to educate ourselves how we want and still pursue the options we want.. so what if I have an MBA and I like being a plumber at least I can manage my business, speak to my clients well and have opportunities available should I choose to change careers.. which is happening on a much higher scale. Education should not be for the elite nor only one type of career. And we should all be paid what is fair and equitable and frankly in line with the economic realities of a community... in Washington State the median home price (Seattle) is 500K and that would mean the average worker is making 57 bucks an hour to afford said home.. well that is not the case for teachers, nurses and other "educated" professions and they are the ones working and serving the community. Even education does not mean salary and sadly these are also female dominated ones... although that too is thankfully changing |

that doesn't really prepare people for what they'll be facing once out of high school.

I read through this entire thread looking for pics of Christina Hendrick's and all I got were some blurry ass shots.
I'm very disappointed. |

One of my fave's, too!
I want to write about it, but I suppose some have not seen it yet, so: Someone is sooooo preggers. Boy fight. Gun play. Hints about Donnie's past. Beautiful art direction. Preview looks good, too. |

I am wondering if there is a secret code with the musical they saw being Fiorello! (exclamation point!) It's a very mediocre show considering it
won the Tony and Pulitzer Prize.
Anyone else think that the last scene was a dream sequence at first? |

Anyone else think that the last scene was a dream sequence at first? For a minute, I thought she walked into Tony Soprano's backyard... Loved that the big Ad Firm had a gay/closeted art director too! |

I was definitely thinking pregnancy but then why show her going on the pill in the first episode?
I love Pete. I hate Peggy. |

I was definitely thinking pregnancy but then why show her going on the pill in the first episode? It was 1960--they were still getting the bugs out of the pill then. It would have made her feel like she could screw around freely, and then get knocked up like the little slut she really is. |

Okay I loved this episode from start to finish.. that was brilliant. I of course still love the bofo Don/Dick I admired how he knew the job was bullshit from
the get go and the ultimate end as well but let Betty keep her pride.. I also like that it gave Betty balls to the therapist and finally shooting the pigeons.
God woman power!!!
God and then we have Peggy... eating for two or just well eating. I think she is eating.. if you recall she started getting Danish's off the truck... and her new found confidence.. standing up the the bitch goddess Joan.. and her desire to write... Go GRRL. And even the cuckold got balls.. thought of something on his own, did it and it worked.. of course even standing up for Peggy's honor. of course I think that was about him as always.. doesn't want to admit he is attracted to a Lobster.. fuck this shit and calling women animal names.. Dog, Cougar, Lobster... and men are Donkeys.. as they act like asses Of course the requisite pissing contest between men... fuckers.. that shit with the secretary was well showing that cuckold is still a shithole and takes it out on the pecking order.. which of course the women duplicate. God office politics hasn't changed either. God I love Don.. I want to fuck him on a chair wearing a fur coat... shit... he is hot. Off to buy a gun and a baby doll. |

Even today when you start birth control (or even switch pills) you're supposed to wait until you've completed a full cycle before considering it
effective. I've always been told that it takes a few weeks before the hormones from the pill do their job. I imagine that the first pills that came out
were far less effective then pills today...
She must be pregnant, from that first rendezvous with Pete. She's gaining weight in all the right places; or at least they seem to be padding the actress in all the typical places. Poor Peggy. I suppose we'll have to watch her try and find a way to change the situation. |
