I like them but they're too fucking expensive. A little bit of canvas and rubber for $50 bucks? Ever since Nike took them over the price has skyrocketed.

Yea. They have the cool 'Design Your Own' Chucks website where you can design, then order, your own custom pair.
Converse Design Your Own And they've been doing a really neat rotating series of artist's shoes, too. Though, I admit- these days they're way too expensive.

I wore them because they were cheap and we were poor. My daughter wore them because it was fashionable to have 2 dollar pieces of canvas and rubber, marked up
to $50.
If I opened a store, I would want to sell water, coffee and Chuck Taylors, all pure profit. -SJ™ |
