I thought it was Kendra that bitched out Christa?

I bet that's right. Props to whatever chick challenged Christa on the single mommy card, whoever it was.
I'm now encountering the freeze ups online that I just glanced at above. Thank you CBS for putting the rest of the series online so as not to leave us hanging out to dry like ABC did in Mole 2's initial airing, but next time you want to ice a series, maybe just drop it directly to DVD rather than make us work so hard for it? Seriously: all of the major networks have alternate digital channels at their disposal. When are we going to see them utilizing these resources? |

Kendra calling Christa weak was laughable, especially since Kendra was practically carried into the mid-late game phase by Jay.

It was a suitable time waster but probably could have been condensed into smaller installments. Everything feels like its padded out and that we could watch an
episode in twenty minutes with all of the choice sound bytes, necessary challenge footage, and strategy that goes on in pirate's court. Also, way too much
Jay. Never has there been so much overexposure for one reality contestant in a single series, but I do have to admit that most of the cast was very un-piratey
which probably had more to do with the editing decisions that were made and why Joe Don/Nessa/Azmyth/Jay were our quartet of characters with the rest as
filler.
Ben certainly deserved to win the most of anyone there. He didn't overplay his hand like Jay and he didn't give in to his emotions like Christa (who should have cut Jay adrift much sooner)....I also was annoyed by her being able to copy Ben in an ample amount of opportunities in the final challenge. |

I hate how they didnt tell anyone how the rules of the games were gonna go. How can you make a strategy if you don't know anything that is going to happen.
Jay might have played differently if he knew all the ghosts were gonna come back and vote hom out.

About the freeze-ups, when the video plays on the site, right click on the video and select "View in RealPlayer." For me, it worked with no
freeze-ups and the video clarity was actually better.

Ben was the only one in the entire game who made an active effort to get rid of Jay. He was going to go 100% in the final 5 if Laurel wasn't a :retard: who
told Christa that Ben was the true manipulating mastermind. Where she got that idea, I have no clue, but based on the finale I'm guessing she just
didn't like him. It got her ass booted so oh well.
Being a brazen asshole =/= brilliant strategy And for the people who can't get it to work, right click the screen and select "Play in RealPlayer." Then you can skip around to the parts you need to see. |

I ended up right clicking, selecting fast speed and waiting till it got to the parts I was missing. Took me several hours to see the thing but I was finally
able to. Kudos to Kendra on her dead on speech to Christa. I'm glad that Ben won over her. Many of us have kids, that card was over played from day one.
I was just sad to see the only true player lost the rightful win by a(nother) stupid EPMB twist to give the advantage to someone else. Ghosts - bah.
Stupidly done in Pearl Islands and this seemed to be just a rip off of a successful Survivor season down to casting an annoying Rupert clone. Sad about Cheryl
somehow but she came across on the show as depressive anyway. Anyone catch that? Survivor China better be good. Reality TV is way overdone and I'm
ready for something different personally.

I'm now free of the part 3 freezes - using IE with Windows Media did the trick for me, whereas Real was still barfing - and am typing as I watch.
(Correction: it was indeed Kendra who suckerpunched Christa on the mommy card. I retract my statement: coming from her, it's the remark of an embittered old sea hag.)
Initial thought: as soon as I saw Christa choose John - THAT DOOFUS JOHN?!? - I knew why she lost, even without seeing it. WTF was she thinking?! That guy singlehandedly screwed up everything he touched and I look forward to him doing it again. Joe Don's on the table in her support and she goes with frickin' JOHN?
Unbelievable.
Ben's speech to the court where he dumped his winnings: possibly the single best Tribal Council-class speech to the jury in the history of reality television. Perfect timing, perfect delivery, perfect everything.
I'm REALLY having trouble watching Cheryl. I underestimated how much her passing affected me. So sad, so very very sad.
On the structure of the finale: finally we see the EPMB magic touch! Brilliant move making them choose amongst the ghosties.
Loved John yelling "somebody take this!" Ffuker learns from his mistakes at least.
ARRGH! The feed craps out just as Christa begins her ascent with the wheel and I had to start all over again.
Back underway, Christa doesn't seem to be herself today. Muddle headed in the card deck assembly, loping along going up the trail instead of sprinting, pretty much having quit coming down it with the big steel box.
Interesting: she let Ben have the wheel on the coat of arms all to himself while she attended to something or another on Capt. Steele's desk. No fire from her in this the most important moment of the game. Was she somehow throwing the game?
And Ben wins.
I was hoping Christa would fire the blunderbuss as soon as he opened it and snake the win. Cameron had put a lot
of emphasis on setting that up while explaining the final expedition. But, in an emblem of why this show failed, that setup whimpered into nothingness. |

Hi everyone. I just wanted to sincerely thank you all for continuing to be interested in Pirate Master after the show was taken off the air. I read the entire
board while the show was airing and although at times I found it hard to deal with, other times it made me laugh and even smile. I appreciate all of your posts
and your ongoing like/dislike of the show. Just curious...someone wrote that there was a problem with my backstory. What do you mean?
Again, you are all appreciated. Christa CAPTAIN SWEETBEARD |

I loved it of course. A lot of people gave me flack for keeping Jay the week Laurel was ousted and then after the tie, Ben. I can't explain it, but I
honestly made all of my decisions with my heart. I talked with Ben and Jay the most on the ship and I felt that they were my closest friends. I REALIZE that
this is not the way a PIRATE show should be played, but that is the way I chose to play. Had it been a vote...I would be a richer woman. We weren't told
how it was going to end, although we all did assume that it would be a treausure hunt. I would never second guess myself because I made the best decisions that
I could think of at the time and I am glad for keeping Ben and Jay.
Here is the John story: John and I talked a lot during episode 1. I thought he was odd, but brilliant. I thought he had some good ideas and was the best "pirate". I voted for him to leave only because it seemed like it was going to be unanimous and I wasn't willing to stick my neck out and go against the group so early. I told John that I believed he should stay and that I thought he was a strong player. That conversation, I guess, is what made him so devoted to my winning. Further, people go back to the sequested area and talk about the game, so I guess that he developed his opinion there as well. I chose him because I wanted to choose people who were devoted to my winning the most. I nearly picked Joe Don, but my heart told me that John deserved another chance and I felt that Joe Don left with enough money already and John did not. I realize John then agreed to run on my crew for nothing, but that wasn't anticipated. Thanks to John and Jay, I was able to offer Nessa a ton of money. Nessa most likely would have gone on my crew anyway, but who knows. I felt like Nessa got ripped off a little, so that was my way of repaying her. |

I have some questions now that you're here. (looks like you already answered some of them, way to be on the ball)
1) Did the boat really go anywhere or did you just travel in circles in the general filming location like it seemed? 2) Was Azmyth really that hated during his reign as captain and if so, why did Jay and Ben get off scot free? 3) I figured once a woman became captain, it would be girl power + Louie til the end, but the new triad was formed with you in place of Azmyth. Did you always like Jay and Ben or were you just more comfortable keeping the strong people in to keep the heat off you? Did you regret that afterwards considering the outcome? 4) Was Joe Don as awesome as he seemed? 5) What are your thoughts on the beautiful Laurel? Was she truly as lonerish as she seemed, and will you help contribute money to the "Buy Laurel a home fund?" 6) How were you contacted for the show, and did you know about this board beforehand by being a fan of other reality tv and such? 7) Were people aware of Jay's machinations and treachery as it was going on, or only after they fell victim to it? Was there ever really any chance that you and Ben would turn on him or was that all creative editing? 8) This may be a toughie so feel free to ignore it if you want, but in retrospect, did Cheryl show any warning signals of being disconnected or not "all there" during the show? 9) Did everyone receive all the money they earned during the show, even after it was cancelled? If so, how much did you end up getting overall? Were you allowed to promise someone money for a certain task, and then keep the money anyway? Like could you just keep the money you said you'd give Nessa 10) And finally, why did you choose John for your team? I loved him as a character, but to all of us and what seemed like all of the cast, he was a total putz. |

Hi, Christa, thanks for having the guts to check in here.
I know
we're mean and horrible, but we did sit and watch the whole stupid thing.
One question from me: Did yall see any birds? Seriously. From what we saw, Dominica is devoid of all animal life, except for that snake cistern. Surely that couldn't be right? |

) Did the boat really go anywhere or did you just travel in circles in the general filming location like it seemed?
It sailed around the island,of course. We actually did sailing, but there were people to teach us what to do. We sailed some days more than others. 2) Was Azmyth really that hated during his reign as captain and if so, why did Jay and Ben get off scot free? At first everyone liked Az, but then I think people got tired of him winning and winning and winning. Ben did a good job of staying positive even when he was always an officer. Jay--no on had the balls to take him out!!! I wanted him to stay, though. 3) I figured once a woman became captain, it would be girl power + Louie til the end, but the new triad was formed with you in place of Azmyth. Did you always like Jay and Ben or were you just more comfortable keeping the strong people in to keep the heat off you? I was working with Jay since the first day. Everyone thought that they were with Jay, but I actually was. The bond over our families was strong and it was real. We talked about our families a lot. He is a nice person who loves his wife and kids dearly. I was working with Jay and then Ben just kind of was with us. I am not sure how that happened. Smart by Ben! SMART!!! I never considered an all girls thing because it was Jay and I till then end as far as I was concerned. Did you regret that afterwards considering the outcome? I didn't have any regrets. I played with my heart. 4) Was Joe Don as awesome as he seemed? I didn't get to know Joe Don well at all. When he was Captain, he was not really talking to anyone and then I was too mad at him to give him a chance. We butted heads a bit, but I do think he is awesome now. Episode 8 made me find him funny and endearing. 5) What are your thoughts on the beautiful Laurel? Was she truly as lonerish as she seemed, and will you help contribute money to the "Buy Laurel a home fund?" I don't feel like I know Laurel very well at all. We didn't talk much. I was very busy playing the game and she never wanted to talk about it. She was always kind to me. On Tv, I saw a whole new side of Laurel. I think she is fantastic. I think Laurel likes her whole van thing... 6) How were you contacted for the show, and did you know about this board beforehand by being a fan of other reality tv and such? I applied just like a regular person. I did find that a lot of people are recruited for reality tv. I didn't know that before. I never even knew about these kinds of message boards before and at first I was ALARMED by the negativity. I have to answer the rest later. It is getting late for me.... |

Thanks for answering all of these so thoroughly. This board thrives on being mean, but just remember that most of us are fat and/or ugly and want to feel
better about ourselves.
It's interesting that you felt so strongly about alligning with Jay from early on since we didn't get to see your relationship until later, especially since Joe Don and Azmyth dominated the airtime for the first half of the season, and they made it seem like Jay was more with them when they were the ones in power. You of course know that you did get a lot of flack for "hiding" behind Jay, but I respected your gameplay a lot more than that. It's much harder to play a strong social game and keep your cool in a situation like a PIRATE SHIP, and you and Ben did it very well, in addition to kicking ass in the expeditions. You two were actually some of my favorite finalists of any reality show (and I watch a lot). All of the final 3 were very deserving for different reasons in my opinion, so kudos on getting the strong people to the end. The fact that you were captain for so long and never really received any ill will from the crew was remarkable, especially considering the other two major captains went down in flames. Then you had virtually all of the cast rooting for you at the end, so you obviously did something right. I don't mean to bog you down, but I have one more question for whenever you're ready. Were there any Survivor fans in the cast, and did anyone point out the obvious similarities between Louie and Rupert during the show? |

Good God Naj, hog the thread now that Christa has posted. ;) I have one question for Christa and that is this: In all honesty, knowing what you know from being
there and then seeing how it was edited, do you feel Jay should have won? I'm sure there are many of us who totally think that he was the Pirate Master but
we weren't there obviously.
Thanks for having the guts to post here. We bitch about stuff and trash people but all of us have one thing in common and that's the fact that we're hard core fans or we wouldn't bother. I lied, one last question. Did you apply specifically for Pirate Master or are you one of the rumored people who applied for Survivor and got PM instead? If you did apply specifically for PM, how'd you find out about it? As you can tell by my username, I'm one of the EPMB rejected minions. :) |
