ETA: That DA chick killed herself? Fucking awesome. One last self-rightous twat in the world. That "self-righteous twat" was working to put child abusers in jail. It's a shame she's no longer with us. Dani, eh. I want less screen time for Amber. |

On letterman and all that other stuff people mentioned, there aren't crazy graphics like on Power of 10. Crazy graphics? At this point, all they really need to do is dump in numbers. The graphics are all done and reusable. |

Amber's vision was half right. Her opportunity to win money is sort of like getting rewarded for winning a pov-- runner up.
Danielle will score big, so now it's up to Jess, Zach and Eric to change the game again and evict one of the Donatos! Will it happen? Let's hope! |

I'm guessing it won't be a full episode but taped only for Big Brother. They'll get them in during a regular taping and speed it up to fit in a 5
or 10 minute segment on BB. Or else an empty studio thing (what's to stop an audience member from shouting "Eric is America's Player!!" or
giving something away?).

banana brain girls or Eric or Julie Chimp is pretty close to Zero. Then figure the odds that someone would know about any one of those things and would also be
willing to shout out something at the taping of a network show? Those odds would be essentially - "forget about it!"

Wow! It's amazing how many experts on TV production we have in this thread! The interesting thing to me is how most of them just make "bald claims" (that's a claim that is made without any supporting facts - the writer just says it is true because they claim it is true). Notice that Cuteshoes was the only one who posted a "cogent claim" (that's a claim that is supported by reasonable facts and logic). If given the choice, I would chose to believe Cuteshoes. The interesting thing to me is that I once appeared as a contestant on a national TV game show. It aired six weeks after it was taped. While I was there, I
asked one of the stage hands why they waited for six weeks to air them. She told me they once used to air the shows just a week or two after taping. But they
discovered that if they had any kinds of problems arise that stopped the production - like a strike or technical or equipment problems - they would lose all
the money for every episode they failed to air. By having a few shows "in the can", they lower the potential losses. If there is a sudden strike, at
least they have 6 weeks to try and resolve things before it starts to cost them money. I had no reason to disbelieve this lady. She seemed very credible to me.

They will just have a small group of people in the audience, or nobody at all...that's show biz!

Maybe they flew in the Drew Carey fan club. It shouldn't be too hard to keep 11 people quiet.

hmmm I wrote out a long reply about how animation works but it seems to have disappeared. Oh well. Here's the short version: Basically - the animations of
the contestants turning the knob trying to decide what percentage to guess is what takes time. An animator will have to recreate this manually. It may look
like it's live, but it's not, the show is taped, the graphic is superimposed on top of it, the audience doesn't see it. So the show would need to
be edited first and then the animator receives the time codes with what percentages the contestant is fiddling around with, and then the animator recreates
this. That's what takes so long. They would have to do it for every time a contestant chooses a percentage and then locks it in. They can't have
pre-rendered animations since this is based on what the contestant is deciding on, how long it takes him/her to decide, etc. etc. I do network graphic packages
for a living. Anyway, if the show is airing a week from when it was taped, it will be tight with an edit to create before the graphics, but I'm sure CBS
will have more staff than I had when working on Celebrity Poker Showdown, which was done at a small graphics boutique.

To those w/ feeds - have Amber or Dani been acting differently at all today? I'm still wondering if either of them scored big bucks.

I ran some errands, took a business trip, went out for milk, hurried to get to a motel, and all because I wanted to say that Dani and Amber are on some
gameshow. Look at me.

Drew: What percentage of American's think Kris has packed up all of Dani's crap and left it on the curb? Dani: Don't care... I'll just buy new stuff with all the money I win on BB and move in with that hot guy with the bandana.... ohh..shoot.. what was his name again? Ahh... it doesn't matter... I'll probably be making out with his better looking best friend within 18 hours of knowing him anyway. Drew: Um... so is that your answer? Dani: Nope... 100%!! Drew: YOU are CORRECT! Dani: Really? Yay!! I win a million dollars? YAY!! I'm headed home to Nick!! Woohoo... hey wait... that camera guy is HOT!!! Hey there... wanna go to Hawaii?? I just won a million dollars!! LEt's go.... Camera pans to a waiting Nick with a hand full of roses and a single tear running down his face. "What percentage of Americans think that bacon and eggs is a good breakfast choice?" Amber: Ummm *starts crying* what does percentage mean? Drew: you lose! Get the hell off my stage. |

I got a degree in television production and have been working in tv for the past 5 years and with the right equipment which I'm sure CBS has it, they can
easily tape a show and air it in the same day.
