Eric's not dumb. He knows that if Dustin goes up against Dick that America will choose Dustin to go.
Now if you look at it like this ..... Dustin gets voted out. Jameka wouldn't vote out Dustin over Dick. Amber (Sea Hag) wouldn't vote out Dustin over Dick. Jess can't vote. That leaves Eric ... and they will know that Eric did it because there is no one else to blame.  Its obvious that Dani would vote out Dustin. Jen and Zach would be dumb not too
because the "numbers" would be in their favor for the next HOH. Eric will be screwed if Dustin goes up!!

I *do* think he cares that we respect him as a player. He wants to be thought of as a good player/strategic mastermind more than anything.
